GAMBLE SILENCES SPRINGFIELD’S BATS

COLUMBIANA, OH – As the weather outside has been heating up, Mackenzi Gamble brought some of her own heat to the ballpark Thursday night as she no-hit Springfield enroute to a 10-0 Columbiana victory.

Gamble was devastating in the pitcher’s circle for Columbiana, going the full five innings with zero runs allowed, no hits surrendered, and sat down 12 Springfield batters courtesy of the strikeout. After entering the bottom of the third inning with a 5-0 lead, Columbiana went off to score five more runs due to Gamble, Gabriella Spooner, and Caitlyn Pleska each having RBI’s in the big, explosive offensive inning.

Columbiana finished with a line of 10 runs on seven hits while also playing rock solid defense in the field, not committing a single error to back up their no-hitter hopeful pitcher in the pitcher’s circle.

Columbiana will look to win their fourth consecutive ballgame on Friday night as they get set to travel to Warren and take on Howland. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
