GIRARD OH- In an impressive volleyball performance on the road, Girard secured a commanding victory over Boardman in straight sets. The scores underscored their dominance: 25-14, 25-22, and an overwhelming 25-8.

Girard’s standout players made their mark on the court. Bree Latell led the offensive charge with a remarkable 19 kills, while Nico Cochran contributed 15 kills to keep the momentum going. Bailey Walters orchestrated the team’s plays with precision, tallying 35 assists that set up her teammates for success.

The service line proved to be another area of strength for Girard, with Alexis Pieton, Bree Latell, and Bailey Walters combining for 25 service points. Bailey Walters also shined in the serving department with 5 aces, closely followed by Alexis Pieton with 4.

On the defensive end, Alexis Pieton and Brooke Perry each contributed 4 blocks, demonstrating their presence at the net. Bree Latell’s all-around performance included 10 digs, while Bailey Walters added 7 more to the team’s defensive efforts.

Boardman was led by MC Werth with 7 kills on the night. Maya Flores collected 5 kills.  Gianna Cicchillo dug up 11 balls. Ava Commons set up 17 assists.

With this resounding win, Girard continues to showcase their skill and teamwork. They are set to face Struthers in their next match on Thursday, while Boardman prepares to take on West Branch on the same day. Both teams’ upcoming matchups promise more exciting volleyball action as the season progresses.
