CREEKSIDE TOO MUCH FOR ATHLETIX TO HANDLE

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside’s bats were enough to win a high scoring affair with Athletix. Creekside came back from being down 3-0 early to win 8-5.

Clayton Blucher was near unstoppable at the plate for Creekside. He went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Alex Gabauer also had a strong performance going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Gavin Miller made the most out of a 1-4 day scoring a run, and knocking in a pair of RBI.

Luke Savage tossed his way to a win on the bump. He pitched 3.1 innings and gave up 5 runs on 10 hits.

Cam Hollobaugh was productive for the Athletix offense. He went 1-3 with a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Tristan Adamson, and Ty Ventresco both 1-3 with a RBI.  Nate Ostas had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored. He wasn’t the only one, Nate Fleming also had a pair of hits in four at bats. He scored a run.

Jake Cunningham was hit with the loss. He threw 3.2 and gave up 6 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out a pair.

DURA EDGE DOUBLES UP ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge was able to get twice as many runs on Athletix on Friday night in 18U action. Dura had a big 3 run 4th inning to put the game away.

Gabe Faunda had a big night for Dura Edge going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.  Kyle Yost went 2-4 with a RBI.  Ethan Hanley went 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.  Parker Lyons mirrored those numbers.

Jake Grdic was able to pitch his way to a win on the mound. He went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 6.

Cam Hollobaugh went 1-3 for the Athletix and knocked in a RBI.  Jason Triveri was not retired on the night going 1-1 with 2 walks.  Steven Zordich and Clay Mitchell both went 1-3.

Zordich took the loss on the mound for the Athletix. He went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 5.

LATE SCORE LIFTS WHITING TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- With the score tied at 3-3 in the 6th inning Whiting Roll Offs scored a run in the 6th to come out on top of the Avalanche 4-3.

Tyler Kamerer had a perfect day on offense for Whiting. He went 4-4 with 2 RBI.  Marc Conti went 1-3 on the day with another RBI.  He also scored a run. Zac Herb went 1-3 with a run scored. Benny Dottle mirrored those numbers and added a walk.

 

Herb secured the win on the mound for Whiting. He pitched a complete game giving up 3 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 8 batters.

Rufus Byler was a bright spot for the Avalanche offense. He went 1-2 with a RBI.  Landin Esposito and Logan Ayres both went 1-3 on the night. Isaac Criss went 1-3 as well, and he also scored a run.

Ayres was charged with the loss on the hill. He went 3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits.

PROSPECTS WIN IN THE CLUTCH

STRUTHERS OH- Prospevts found themselves down early on Friday but scored 2 clutch runs in the middle innings to walk away with a tight 2-1 win over Eagle Wear.

Brandon Popio and Luca Bertolasio both went 1-3 with a RBI for Prospects.  Curtis King, and Jeremy Kreuzwieser both scored runs for the Prospects offense.  Tino Multari went 1-2 with a walk.

Shane Cato pitched an absolute gem on the mound for Prospects. He threw a complete game giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8 and walked none.

Text Ruffner went 1-3 on the day for Eagle Wear knocking in the team’s sole RBI. Eli Harpalani went 1-3 with a run scored. Jack Pawlowicz, and Thomas Hanlon both went 1-3.

Conor Carney pitched well despite being charged with the loss. He pitched a complete game giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits.  He struck out 5.

KNIGHTLINE VICTORIOUS IN TIGHT CONTEST

STRUTHERS OH- All the runs that would be scored on Friday night between Knightline and Ballistic would be scored by the end of three innings. After that it was a complete show for their pitchers. Knightline was able to come out on top 3-1.

Vinny Sciortino didn’t record a hit on the day, but did earn 2 RBI.  Mike Sciortino went 1-3 with a RBI.  Gavin Shrum went 1-2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Nick Jacob’s walked and scored a run.

Ryan Gibbons earned the win on the bump for Knightline. He went all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 5.

Anthony Koulianos went 1-2 with a RBI for Ballistic.  Brady Harman walked and scored a run.  Dustin Horn recorded a 1-3 night.

Will Morrow was tagged with the loss for Ballistic. He went 2.2 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. He struck out a pair.

 

WHITING PUTS EAGLE WEAR IN A WHIRLWIND

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting blustered their bats on Wednesday to give Eagle Wear toms of problems. They flexed their muscles in a 8-1 win scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning.

Gabe Yanssens was the big bat in Whiting’s lineup. He went 2-2 on the night with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.  Logan Andreyko managed one hit, but it was a big one as he knocked in 3 RBI. He also scored a run. Ethan Bintrum went 1-2 with a run scored and a RBI.

 

Jake Vitale was a vital piece to Whiting’s success. He threw 6 innings on the mound and gave up just 1 run on 5 hits.  He struck out 6.

Jack Pawlowicz was a big plus for the Eagle Wear offense going 3-3 on the night.  Cole Grable went 1-2 with a RBI, and a walk.  Zach Hryb went 1-2 on the day.

Josh Ickes was the losing pitcher on the night.  He went 2 innings pitched. He only gave up 2 earned runs (7 runs total) on 8 hits.  He struck out a pair.

AVALANCHE ALL OVER ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche left nothing to chance on Wednesday night as they pounded Athletix 12-1 in 18U Class B action.

Landon Esposito was a thorn in the side of Athletix pitching going 2-4 and knocking in a pair of RBI.  He also scored a run.  Derek Franken also had multiple hits as he went 2-4 with a RBI and run scored.  Mason Jones made the most out of a 1-4 night grabbing 3 RBI. Rufus Byler went 1-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

Jaret Boyer notched the win for Avalanche going 6 innings on the bump giving up just 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 3.

Nate Fleming was a bright spot for the Athletix offense. He went 2-3. LJ Evans went 1-2 on the night.  Cam Hollobaugh walked and collected his team’s sole RBI.

Nate Ostas was charged with the loss on the mound. He went 3 innings and gave up 4 runs on 3 hits. He struck out 1.

PROSPECTS PUT DURA EDGE BATS ON ICE

STRUTHERS OH- Pitching was big time for the Prospects on Wednesday night in 18U Class B action. The Prospects kept Dura Edge off the board in an impressive 4-0 win.

Luca Bertolasio was the heavy hitter for the Prospects offense. He went 2-2 with a walk, and a RBI. Shane Cato went 1-2 with a RBI. Brandon Popio crossed the plate twice on the day going 1-2.

Austen Price had a strong performance on the mound going all 7 innings and shutting out Dura Edge on 2 hits.  Price struck out 15 and only walked 1.

Kyle Yost, and Gabe Faunda got the two hits for Dura Edge both going 1-2.  Braden Gebhardt walked once.,

 

Guy Young was given the loss on the hill for Dura Edge. He went 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 11.

EARLY RUNS ENOUGH FOR EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear scored 4 runs in the first inning on Wednesday night in a matchup with Dura Edge. Even though their offense was shut out the rest of the way, 4 runs were plenty for Eagle Wear’s pitching as they won 4-1.

Teddy Ruffner led the production for Eagle Wear going 1-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Christian Zilli had multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI. Steve Rohan went 1-2 adding a RBI.

James Campbell was able to pick up the win with dominant pitching. He went all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits. The run was unearned. He struck out 8 and walked 1.

Parker Lyons went 1-4 with Dura Edge’s only RBI of the day. Ethan Hanley went 1-3 with a run scored. Caleb Jones also took a 1-3 day.

Alex Rothwell took the loss on the hill. He went 4 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 6 and walked a pair.

FALCONS BLANK BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- After throwing a no hitter on Monday, the Astro Falcons pitching staff in the 18U division kept rolling on Wednesday night shutting out Ballistic Baseball 6-0.

Chase Vrabel had multiple hits for the Falcons going 2-3 with a RBI. Aiden Kelly went 1-2 with a run scored and a pair of RBI. Jackson Hower also went 2-3 with a run scored, and he knocked in 2 RBI as well.

Tommy Beam was credited with the win on the mound. He went 6 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits. He struck out 12 without walking a single batter.

Although Ballistic’s hits were scarce, Koby Zupko went 1-2 on the day. Anthony Koulianos also had a 1-2 day at the plate.

Griffin Widrig was hit with the loss on the rubber for Ballistic. He went 4 innings and gave up 3 runs (none of them were earned) on 4 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 2.
