WARRIORS HAND LAKERS SECOND LOSS OF THE SEASON

Andover, OH- In Monday’s matchup, the Edgewood Warriors secured an 11-1 victory over the Pymatuning Valley Lakers, with notable contributions from players throughout the lineup. Gianna lanetta, Faith Vencill, and Carly Kray stood out, collectively amassing seven hits, scoring four runs, and driving in six.

The Warriors’ decisive victory was punctuated by a six-run surge in the seventh inning, with key plays including singles and doubles by Avery Vencill, lanetta, and an error that added to their tally. Edgewood initially got on the scoreboard in the fifth inning, courtesy of Lucianna Paolillo’s double and Makenna Rhodes’s sacrifice fly.

Pitcher Lucianna Paolillo played a pivotal role for the Warriors, pitching a solid game and earning the win. On the opposing side, Saige Payne of the Pymatuning Valley Lakers took the loss after a challenging outing on the mound.

Edgewood’s offensive prowess was evident with a total of 12 hits, highlighted by lanetta’s three runs batted in and Kray’s three-hit performance. Paolillo and Avery Vencill also contributed multiple hits to the team’s effort, while displaying patience at the plate with six walks drawn throughout the game.

For the Lakers, McKenna Jordan emerged as a standout performer, going 3-for-3 at the plate and driving in one run. Allison Clark and Mackenzie Kribbs also made notable contributions with multiple hits for Pymatuning Valley.

Looking ahead, the Warriors are set to face West Geauga in an away game, while the Lakers will take on the Kirtland Hornets at home, both scheduled for Tuesday.

FITCH FALCONS FLY BY DRAGONS

Ashtabula, OH- Led by a stellar performance from Trevor Porter, the Austintown-Fitch Falcons dominated the Lakeside Dragons with a commanding 16-6 win on Wednesday.

Porter proved to be a driving force for the Falcons, delivering four RBIs on two hits. His contributions were crucial, as he singled twice, walked twice, and consistently found ways to bring in runs throughout the game.

Austintown-Fitch wasted no time in asserting their dominance, jumping ahead in the top of the second inning with a flurry of runs. Nate McGahagan, Ross Harris, Frank Senediak, and Drew Kaschak were among the Falcons players who contributed to their team’s early offensive onslaught, providing key hits and drawing walks to put Austintown-Fitch in the lead.

The Falcons continued to extend their lead in the third inning, with John Darnley adding to the scoring with a sacrifice fly and Porter once again coming through with a timely hit.

On the mound, Cole Gamy delivered a solid performance for the Falcons, earning the win after pitching four innings and allowing just three earned runs while striking out four batters.

Despite their efforts, the Lakeside Dragons couldn’t contain the Falcons’ offensive firepower. Tristan Westerfield started on the mound for the Dragons but faced a tough outing, giving up eight runs over one and two-thirds innings.

Nevertheless, the Lakeside Dragons showed resilience at the plate, with Gage Tome leading the offensive charge by driving in two runs. Alex DiSalvatore also had a strong showing, collecting three hits in three at-bats, while Dyln Newsome contributed two hits to the team’s offensive effort.

With this convincing victory secured, the Austintown-Fitch Falcons turn their attention to their next challenge as they prepare to face the Alliance Varsity Aviators on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Lakeside Dragons will regroup and aim for a comeback when they take on West Geauga in their next matchup.

WARRIORS PAOLILLO LEADS THE CHARGE PAST WOLVERINES

Chesterland, OH- In a thrilling showdown on Wednesday, the Edgewood Warriors asserted their dominance on the softball diamond, clinching a 6-3 victory over the West Geauga team. Led by the stellar performance of pitcher Luciana Paolillo, the Warriors showcased their prowess and secured a well-deserved win.

Paolillo’s command of the game was evident from the start, as she struck out an impressive 16 batters over the course of seven innings. Despite surrendering six hits and three runs, Paolillo remained composed, steering her team to victory with precision and skill.
The offensive prowess of the Warriors was on full display, with standout performances from Carly Kray and Mckenna Vencill. Kray’s bat proved to be a potent weapon, as she collected three hits in four at-bats, including a crucial double in the fourth inning. Vencill also made her mark with two runs batted in, contributing significantly to the team’s offensive onslaught.
From the outset, the Warriors set the tone for the game, opening the scoring in the first inning with a well-executed play that saw Makenna Rhodes drive in a run with a timely single. The momentum continued in the second inning, as the Warriors extended their lead with three additional runs, courtesy of RBI singles from Kray and Vencill.
Despite a valiant effort from West Geauga, led by pitcher Lely Percassi, who battled through seven innings, the Warriors’ relentless offensive pressure proved to be too much to handle. Percassi’s efforts were commendable, as she held her own against a formidable lineup, striking out two batters and demonstrating resilience in the face of adversity.
Edgewood’s offensive onslaught was further fueled by the collective efforts of Addison Lamson, Makenna Rhodes, and Avery Vencill, who each contributed multiple hits to the team’s impressive tally of 13 hits for the game.
For West Geauga, Dayana Malone emerged as a standout performer, tallying three hits in four at-bats and providing a spark for her team’s offense. Shaylynn Rogaski, Lely Perkassi, and Malone each drove in a run, showcasing the team’s determination to compete until the final out.
With this victory under their belts, the 6 – 3 Edgewood Warriors look ahead to their next challenge as they prepare to face off against Perry in a key CVC Lake Division contest in their upcoming game on Thursday. Bolstered by their stellar performance, the Warriors remain focused and determined to continue their winning streak as they strive for excellence on the softball diamond.  West Geauga (6 – 5) will look to bounce back against Orange on Thursday.

FALCONS SOAR IN HIGH SCORING BATTLE WITH SPARTANS

Jefferson, OH- The Jefferson Falcons soared to a thrilling 15-9 victory over the Conneaut Spartans, powered by Kennidie Rogers’ spectacular performance at the plate. Rogers was the standout star of the game, driving in an impressive five runs on four hits, including a memorable inside-the-park home run in the sixth inning that electrified the crowd.

From the outset, the Falcons asserted their dominance, jumping to an early lead in the first inning thanks to stellar hits from Allison Hill and Rylee DeMattia. The momentum continued in the second inning as the Falcons plated five more runs, fueled by Rogers’ clutch hitting and a string of well-executed plays.

Despite a spirited effort from the Spartans, highlighted by Maddy Drew’s towering home run in the third inning, Jefferson maintained control of the game. Even as Conneaut rallied with five runs of their own in the fourth inning, the Falcons remained undeterred, answering back with another five-run explosion in the sixth inning.

On the mound, Olivia Lewis battled through four innings for the Falcons, while Ada Sirrine provided solid relief pitching, shutting down the Spartans’ offense and securing the victory.

Offensively, the Falcons were firing on all cylinders, amassing an impressive 16 hits throughout the game. Notable contributions came from Mia Contenza, Hill, Sirrine, and DeMattia, who each delivered multiple hits to keep the Falcons’ offense rolling. Additionally, Marillia Matuz showcased her speed on the bases, stealing two in the game.

Despite the loss, the Conneaut Spartans showed resilience, with Drew leading the charge with three RBIs and Alyssa McFadden delivering a stellar 3-for-4 performance at the plate.

With this commanding win under their belts, the Falcons are primed and ready for their next challenge against Perry, as they aim to continue their winning streak. As for the Spartans, they will regroup and look to bounce back in their upcoming matchup against the Edgewood Warriors.

FALCONS FLY BY SPARTANS

Jefferson, OH- The Jefferson Falcons soared to victory on Tuesday, dominating the Conneaut Spartans with a commanding 13-0 win. Right from the start, the Falcons asserted their dominance, with key plays in both the second and third innings propelling them into a substantial lead.

Devin Salinas ignited the scoring frenzy with a crucial single in the second inning, setting the tone for the Falcons’ offensive onslaught. Giovanni Matticola and Toby Dickson followed suit, driving in runs and securing an early advantage for Jefferson. The momentum only continued to build as Logan Saksa, Matticola, and others contributed to the scoring barrage.

Pitcher Luke Lambert delivered a stellar performance on the mound, stifling the Spartans’ offense with precision and control. Meanwhile, Bryce Spurlin struggled to contain the Falcons’ relentless hitting, ultimately succumbing to Jefferson’s offensive prowess.

Leading the charge at the plate were stalwarts like Dickson, Michael Riffle, and Lambert, each making significant contributions to the Falcons’ offensive output. Notably, Dickson’s solid hitting and three RBIs propelled Jefferson’s offensive dominance.

Defensively, the Falcons displayed flawless execution, committing zero errors and showcasing their fielding prowess. Riffle stood out with his exceptional defensive play, anchoring the team’s efforts in the field.

Despite Conneaut’s efforts, including notable performances from Spurlin and Ty Covill, the Spartans couldn’t overcome Jefferson’s relentless attack. With a rematch looming on the horizon, the Falcons are poised to continue their winning ways as they set their sights to repeat against Conneaut on Wednesday.
