FREE AS A BIRD

BOARDMAN OH- When it comes to Boardman athletics, few can match the varsity experience of senior Ava Freeborough. Since her freshman year, Ava has been a key player across three sports: soccer, basketball, and softball. With that much time on the field and court, Ava’s leadership is second to none. She knows how to motivate her teammates, leads by example, and has the presence to lift up her squads in the toughest moments.

On the soccer field, Ava’s athleticism is impossible to miss. She’s got the kind of speed that leaves defenders struggling to keep up, and her ability to cover ground quickly makes her a constant threat. Whether she’s sprinting down the sideline or tracking back to help on defense, Ava’s hustle shines brightest when the game is on the line.

Ava’s drive doesn’t stop at the field. She’s carrying a 4.0 GPA and is gunning for the top spot in her class. Her dedication to her studies mirrors the hard work she puts in as an athlete. Balancing academics and sports isn’t easy, but Ava handles it like a pro, setting the bar high for her peers.

Soccer has always held a special place in Ava’s heart, and it’s a bond she shares with her father, who also happens to be a soccer ref. From a young age, they’ve connected over the game, and now in her final season at Boardman, they’re soaking in every moment. For both of them, this last ride means something extra.

Ava represents Boardman in all the ways you’d want—she plays with heart, sportsmanship, and an unshakable work ethic. If you haven’t seen her in action yet, don’t miss your chance. Ava Freeborough is putting on a show for Spartan Nation one last time!
