KNIGHTLINE’S LATE SURGE HOLDS OFF AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline used a 2 run top of the 7th to hold off Avalanche in a competitive 16u game to open their Class B season.

Gavin Shrum had a great day at the plate for Knightline going 2-3 with 3 RBI. Mikey Sciortino also has a 2 hit game.

Ethan Mannion has the lone RBI for the Avalanche going 1-1.

Jake Corll got the win on the mound for Knightline only giving up 4 hits and striking out 9.

Tim West pitched well for the Avalanche giving up just 1 ER in his 3 innings pitched.

16U: WHITING OWNS THE NIGHT, TACK UP 20 COMBINED RUNS ON OPPONENTS

STRUTHERS, OH- The Whiting Roll-Offs have found their stride and Monday night, they showed how dangerous they can be.  In a doubleheader, Whiting’s offense looked impressive to say the least.

In a crazy, wild game, it took the Whiting Roll-Offs ten innings to dispatch of Avalanche, but they finally did by a score of 10-6.  Gavin Mims pitched six scoreless innings in relief to earn the victory for Whiting.  Nicholas Plant suffered the loss for Avalanche, allowing the go-ahead runs to score in the tenth inning.
Caleb Lombardo led all hitters in the game with four hits for Whiting, scoring two runs and driving in another.  Ethan Bintrum slugged three hits, scored three times, and drove in two runs.  Vincent Sibeto had three hits, including an RBI triple, and scored a run while Tyler Kamerer contributed three hits of his own and also drove in three runs in the game.
Collin Brainard had two hits and a pair of RBI in the game for Avalanche.  Jenry Falcon hit a two-run double.

Whiting Roll-Offs 10 – 6 Avalanche (10 innings)
The Whiting Roll-Offs scored in bunches in every odd-numbered inning to make short work of Eagle Wear, winning by a score of 10-0.  Garrett Donaldson tossed a three-hit shutout to record the victory, striking out seven and walking three in the game.
Zach Luciano got saddled with the loss for Eagle Wear, giving up eight runs in just 2 1/3 innings.
Ethan Bintrum led the Whiting offense with three hits, including a double, and also scored three runs in the game.  Tyler Kamerer slugged a triple and a double, drove in four runs, and scored one of his own while Gavin Sims hit a pair of doubles and drove in a pair of runs.  Cre Calabria added a hit and two runs scored to the Whiting win.

18U: FALCONS FLY PAST AVALANCHE 7-1

STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons scored early and often en route to an easy 7-1 victory over Avalanche Monday evening in Class B play.

Brayden Beck picked up the win for Astro, allowing just one hit on three hits in six strong innings, while striking out seven and walking three.  Trey Giannini suffered the loss for Avalanche, yielding four runs in three innings of work.

Beck helped himself at the plate with two hits, including an RBI triple, and scored a run for Astro in the win.  Chase Franken and Lucas Gulczynski each slugged a pair of hits and scored a run while Burke Camper hit a double and touched home twice in the win.

Marshall Weinberg hit an RBI single in the game for Avalanche.

16U: LOEW LIFTS EAGLE WEAR OVER AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- Eagle Wear held off a late Avalanche fury to win 6-5.  Larry Iagulli tossed a complete game in the win for Eagle Wear, allowing just two earned runs of the five scored on eight hits while striking out five and walking three.

Nicholas Plant suffered the loss for Avalanche, yielding four runs (two earned) in over four innings of work while striking out five and walking six on just two hits.

Joshua Loew lead Eagle Wear with a pair of hits, a run, and an RBI.  Ian Barton hit an RBI triple and scored a run while Ashton Dunbar added a hit, a run, and two RBI to the winning cause.

Collin Brainard banged out a pair of hits, including an RBI triple for Avalanche.  Jake Pappagallo slugged an RBI double in the game.

18U: ASTRO FALCONS OVERCOME ERRORS TO BLAST PAST AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons, despite committing five errors, were able to find a way to defeat Avalanche 9-6 Monday night in Class B play.  Chase Franken picked up the win in relief for Astro, giving up just one unearned run in three innings of work.

Zack Nolf got saddled with the loss for Avalanche, allowing all nine runs to touch home.

Burke Camper helped lead the Astro assault with three hits, including a triple and a double while driving in three runs in the game.  Connor Rakow and Josh Hoffman both had two hits, including a double, two RBI and two runs scored in the win for Astro.

Peyton Olinski led the way for Avalanche with two hits, a run, and an RBI.  Damian Airwyke had a hit, a run and an RBI of his own in the game.

LITTLE B: McROBERTS HELPS KNIGHTLINE TAKE TWO FROM AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- Knightline scored seven times in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead over Avalanche and never look back en route to a 12-6 victory.  Joe Barr tossed five scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win.  Timmy West yielded seven runs in just over four innings to suffer the loss for Avalanche.  Matt McRoberts led the way for Knightline with two hits, including a double, a run scored and five RBI.  Brady Dixon slugged a double among his two hits, scored twice and drove in two more while TJ Piroch had a double among his two hits as well, scoring two runs and driving in one more in the contest.  Drew Delgarbino had two hits, a run, and an RBI while Mikey Sciortino added a pair of hits and also scored a run in the Knightline victory.  Pat Hubert led Avalanche with two hits, a run, and an RBI.  Anthony Koulianos hit an RBI double and scored a run in the game.

Knightline 12 – 6 Avalanche
Knightline was able to sweat out a late Avalanche rally to win their Class b matchup 9-8.  Fletcher Postlewait picked up the win for Knightline, yielding five runs on seven hits in just over four innings of work.  Collin Brainard went the distance in the loss for Avalanche, surrendering all nine runs in the game.  Madden Boehm closed out the game for Knightline to earn the save.  Matt McRoberts helped lead the way for Knightline with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.  TJ Piroch had two hits, a run, and an RBI while Thomas Kling slugged a pair of hits and drove home a run in the game.  Guy Young contributed a hit, a run and an RBI to the winning effort.  Jack Dascenzo banged out two hits for Avalanche, drove in two runs and scored another.  Nicholas Plant and Anthony Koulianos each had two hits and two runs scored in the game.

LITTLE B: HOOPER HAS 3 HITS, EAGLE WEAR STIFLES AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- Eagle Wear defeated Avalanche by a score of 4-2 in Class b play Friday evening.  Ian Barton pitched a complete game in the win for Eagle Wear, allowing just the two runs on a pair of hits while striking out twelve and walking three.

Jake Pappagallo got saddled with the loss for Avalanche, giving up four runs (only two earned) on three hits in four innings of work, while striking out seven and walking six.

Ryan Hooper led all hitters in the game with three hits, a run and an RBI for Eagle Wear.  Joe Roth drove in a run for Eagle Wear in the win.

Vinny Sciortino hit an RBI single in the contest for Avalanche.

16U: PROSPECTS OFFENSE PACES BIG WIN OVER AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- Prospects(12-3) scored in inning four through six to pull away from Avalanche(0-13) and won 9-2 Saturday night.  David Leslie picked up the win in relief for Prospects.  Timmy West suffered the loss for Avalanche, yielding six runs in over four innings of work.

Jared Mindek led Prospects with three hits, including an RBI double, and scored a run in the game.  Luca Bertolasio had two hits, including a two-run double, two RBI and a run scored while Tino Multari added a pair of hits, runs, and RBI each in the win.

Anthony Koulianos hit a pair of doubles and drove in both runs in the game for Avalanche.

18U: CREEKSIDE CONTINUES TO ROLL, LEAP OVER AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- Creekside Fitness is putting the rest of Class B on notice lately, as they chugged past another foe on Saturday 7-3.  The latest victim was the Avalanche who sent Zach Rhodanz to the bump to face off against the red-hot hitters of Creekside.

Rhodanz gave up 5 earned runs, 6 walks while sitting down 4 in his showing. Carmen Cavalier and Joel Kreuzwieser appeared in relief where Kreuzwieser gave up only a hit while striking out a pair.

For Creekside, Dylan Gursky had two hits including a double, an RBI and scored once while Kyle Weitzel had two hits including a home run, three RBIs and scored twice for Creekside. Cameron Kern pitched in the victory, only giving up one hit and no earned runs while striking out nine.

Damian Airwyke had two hits including a triple and scored once for Avalanche.

18U: PROSPECTS RALLY AGAIN TO CRASH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- This is becoming a pattern.  The Prospects trailed early to the Avalanche on Friday, only to rally back in the late innings to walk away with a 3-2 win.

The Prospects (8-3) solidified their second place positioning on Friday when the bats opened up in the fifth inning trailing 1-0.  The Buccos scored a run in the fifth, and two in the sixth to lock up the victory and raise the flag on their latest come from behind win.

For the Prospects, Nick Guarnieri led the way with a pair of hits including a triple, a stolen base, and an RBI.  Ian Lu also contributed a single and a double and plated one.

For the Avalanche, Trey Giannini took the loss in five innings of work.  He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits while striking out four.

Offensively, Josh Cline contributed going 2 for 3 with a stolen base, and an RBI.  Damian Airwyke also had a single and drove in a run.
