NEWTON FALLS BASEBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH CHAD RANKIN

NEWTON FALLS OH- Newton Falls has a bunch of new Tigers entering the den for the 2022 baseball season, and they are ready to earn their stripes.  After losing a large senior class of 7 players last year. The TIgers are placed in an interesting, yet, exciting situation.  A large group of juniors, has whispers starting in the Newton Falls community about the amount of D1 college level talent that currently sits on this team.  One thing is certain, the pitching in The Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference (MVAC) is stellar! While also facing great non conference opponents, such as State Champions Warren JFK. All of which should allow for the rapid development of the younger Tigers on this year’s squad.

As Head Coach Chad Rankin discussed the upcoming season with YSN’s TY Bartell, they took a look at some of the new faces in Newton Falls. The diehard fans of Newton Falls can catch their boys in action in their home opener against conference opponent Crestview on Thursday, March 31st.

For 2022? The Tigers hope to sink their claws in another conference championship and hopefully some more!

HEADED HOME: NEWTON FALLS TIGERS BASEBALL PREVIEW

CNEWTON FALLS, OH – Head coach Chad Rankin and his offense look forward to the upcoming season, which is expected to come with success. Backed with players such as seniors Josh Honeycutt (CF, P) and Christian McCabe (SS), Newton Falls is expected to have a deep lineup.

Of course, Coach Rankin knows the talent level his conference brings. Teams such as Champion and LaBrae will be what stands in Newton Falls way this year.

Underclassmen stepping up is a key Coach Rankin is looking at to unlock the district championship this year. As coach knows this year is different for everybody “Nobody knows what’s going on, and we’re kind of just going out there and playing ball.” Rankin said.

As the MVAC looks to be a gauntlet, Newton Falls looks to be in the thick of it.
