FALCONS HAVE THEIR WAY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

STRUTHERS OH- In a showdown at Bob Cene Park, the Astro Falcons flew past the Diamond Boys 6-2 to snag the NABF 16U title. Taco Verroco was on fire, blasting a double and a home run, driving in three runs, and scoring once. Gavin Hiscox chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while Brysan Zirwas added two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Logan Patellis also had a solid day at the plate with two hits and two runs.

On the mound, Matthew Myers was a force, going five innings, allowing seven hits but no runs, and striking out three. For the Diamond Boys, Michael Grobelny and Vincent Carriero each had two hits, Michael Wolff contributed two hits and two RBIs, and Nick Labella racked up three hits, including a double and a run.

The Falcons’ bats and Myers’ pitching sealed the deal, crowning them champions.

PROSPECTS CANT FIRE UP ENOUGH OFFENSE

STRUTHERS OH- Saturday at Bob Cene Park, Diamond Boys 16U Showcase edged out Prospects Pirates 3-1.

Nick Labella and Daniel Wise each knocked in a run for Diamond Boys. Wise also shined on the mound, pitching a complete game, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five. Camron Herrick kept Prospects in the game with two hits, including a double, and scored their lone run.

DIAMOND BOYS DIG UP WIN OVER ASTRO FALCONS

Friday at Bob Cene Park, Diamond Boys Showcase edged out Astro Falcons 5-4 in NABF Sophomore division action. It was a big win for Diamond Boys heading into Day 3 of the NABF Junior World Series.

Michael Wolff led the charge for Diamond Boys with two hits and two runs. For Astro, Gavin Hiscox was hot at the plate with four hits, including a double and a run. Rowan Urbach also chipped in with a double, an RBI, and a run.

CREEKSIDE SWIPES A WIN AWAY FROM THE DIAMOND BOYS

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside Fitness edged out Diamond Boys Showcase 4-2 on Friday night at Bob Cene Park in NABF action. Jaxon Hicks came through with two hits and two RBIs, while Aiden Perry added a double and scored a run.

Dante Evans was lights out on the mound, pitching 2 2/3 innings without giving up a hit or a run and striking out four. For Diamond Boys, Luca Borichevsky had two hits and a run.

DIAMOND BOYS MAKE IT SHINE

STRUTHERS OH- Diamond Boys Showcase took down Ballistic Baseball 6-2. Jacob Griffith smashed a double and scored a run for Diamond Boys.

On the Ballistic side, Braden Girman was solid with two hits and a run. Jimmy Putko also came through with two hits and an RBI, while Todd Jones added a double and an RBI.

NABF: ASTRO FALCONS BATTLE INTO QUARTER FINALS WITH WIN OVER DIAMOND BOYS

STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons played their way into the quarter-finals of the NABF Senior World Series be defeating Diamond Hit Club 8-1.

Andrew Russell went the distance in the win for Astro, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out six and walking only one.  Justin Eles took the loss for Diamond Hit Club, surrendering six runs in under an inning of work.  Despite the loss, Diamond Hit Club qualified for the quarter-finals as well.

Chase Franken led the way for Astro with a pair of hits, two RBI and a run scored.  Braeden O’Shaughnessy hit an RBI double and scored twice while Josh Hoffman hit an RBI double and scored a run of his own in the game.  Lucas Gulczynski drove in two runs and scored a run in the Astro victory.

Dylan Jackson hit an RBI double in the game for Diamond Hit Club.

NABF 18U: KNIGHTLINE DOUBLES UP ON VICTORIES IN REGIONAL PLAY

STRUTHERS, OH- Coach Tom “Juice” Otto and Knightline are trying to find their groove, and Saturday they danced their way to 24 runs in a doubleheader.

In game one, Knighline blasted their way offensively to a 10-0 win over the Diamond Boys.  Colton Stoneman had three hits including two doubles and scored once, Zach Yaskulka had two hits including a double and scored once, Kris Scandy had three hits, an RBI and scored three times while Gabe Faunda and Tom Kling each had a triple for Knightline.
Will Shaffer earned the win pitching four innings giving up two hits and no runs while striking out ten.
Nik DiBiasio had two hits for Diamond Boys.
In game two, Colton Stoneman had two hits including a double, an RBI and scored once for Knightline in a 14-1 victory over the Ohio Pitbulls.
Travis Harvey had two hits and scored once and Clay Lazzari had two hits, an RBI and scored twice for Knightline.
