EAST PALESTINE VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH JOHN BISTARKEY

EAST PALESTINE OH- There is nothing but pride for every sport at East Palestine.  The volleyball team is no different. John Bistarkey made his much anticipated return to coaching last season, and immediately got back into the groove. He returns again to lead the Bulldogs in a year where they’ll give a lot of players bigger roles, and more opportunities to lead.  The Bulldogs graduated a tremendous senior class in the last school year, but don’t let that make you think that they won’t have leadership.  There are definitely plenty of reasons to be excited for what the Bulldogs are putting on the floor.

This week, coach Bistarkey sat down with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig to help us preview the upcoming season. They talk about who’s stepping up in the locker room as a leader, what has changed about the game since he last coached, and much more. EAST PALESTINE OH- Are you ready for a blast from the past? In East Palestine that is the name of the game in their volleyball program.  John Bistarkey who coached the Bulldogs from 2002-2007 saw an opportunity to come back in to the fold this season to return as head coach.  Bistarkey says that this might be the most talented team he has coached. That’s reason for excitement in Bulldog country.  He is trying to instill a winning culture and confidence into this talented riddled team.  If he succeeds East Palestine could be a big discussion point in the EOAC picture.

John Bistarkey took some time to talk with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig. He gave a great look inside what East Palestine might look like this season.
