BRAVES FIND SUCCESS LATE AGAINST LORDSTOWN

KINSMAN, OH- The Badger Braves rallied to snatch a 14-10 victory from Lordstown on Thursday, overcoming a six-run deficit in a slugfest that saw both teams rack up hits.

The Braves kicked things off with a run due to an error, but Lordstown quickly countered in their half of the first, plating five runs on four hits, capped by J Withrow’s two-RBI single. They kept the momentum, adding runs in the second and third, including a steal of home by J.T. Adams, pushing their lead to 8-3.

But the Braves weren’t done. They exploded in the fourth inning, smashing seven hits to score eight runs and flip the game to lead 11-8. Jeremiah Logan delivered the inning’s critical hit, a two-RBI single on a tough seven-pitch at-bat.

Tyler McWilliams, despite giving up 12 hits and 10 runs, struck out 13 to earn the win for the Braves. Adams suffered the loss for Lordstown after yielding 10 runs over just under four innings.

Badger tallied 14 hits with Jared Schmidt providing major firepower, knocking in three runs on two hits. McWilliams set the pace at the plate with three hits of his own. Carsen Guyer, Jacob Toto, and Vinnie Clark also had multiple hits, with Clark swiping two bases as part of the Braves’ six-steal day.

Lordstown’s Withrow was a standout, going 3-for-3 and driving in three runs, while also snagging multiple bases along with Adams.

The Braves look to carry their momentum into a matchup at St. John on Friday.
