KNIGHTLINE CONQUERS TROY

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline’s 18U team started off the NABF senior Workd Series with an impressive outing. They completely shut down the offense of the Troy Legends on their way to a shutout 8-0 victory.

Mike Sciortino batted in a pair of runs on a 1-4 day with a run scored as well.  Alec Grzyb was a shining star with the bat in his hand. He went 3-4 on the day with a RBI.  Chance Lazcko went 1-3 on the day with a RBI, and a run scored.  Gavin Shrum also collected a RBI and a walk.

Nate Vidmar pitched amazingly to support his offense. He went all 7 innings and completed a shut out.  He gave up 5 hits and struck out 9.

AVALANCHE POUND THE BUCKEYES

STRUTHERS OH- After their 16U squad won earlier in the day on a dramatic walk off, Avalanche’s 18U team made it much less interesting. They stormed their way to a 11-0 victory over the BHM Buckeyes.

Jake Kail was a force for the Avalanche bats. He went 1-3 on the day with a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Julian Trott was never retired at the plate as he went 3-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Logan Ayres was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI.  Noah Reichard knocked in 2 RBI on a 1-3 day.  Kenny Lavrich had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Jaret Boyer collected the win on the mound for the Avalanche. He threw 3 innings and gave up no runs on 1 hit and struck out 6. The Avalanche pitching staff struck out 9 while walking none.

SAYO GRAYS STRIKE FAST

STRUTHERS OH- There was no stopping the Sayo  Grays on Thursday in round one of NABF 18U action at Bob Cene Park. The Sayo Grays were on fire at the plate as they rumbled for an 18-7 win over ProNine Baseball.

Romel Rocco was the most productive bat in the lineup for the Sayo Grays. He went 1-3 with 3 walks, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.  Obiel Sanchez also notched 3 RBI as he went 1-5 on the day.  Rafael Castillo had a great day going 2-3 with 2 walks, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Teonis Pimentel made the most out of a 1-4 outing as he knocked in a pair of RBI.  He scored 2 runs and drew a walk.

Philip Dragovich got the win on the mound for the Sayo Grays going 4.2 IP and giving up 6 runs on 10 hits.  He struck out a pair.

Chris Maurer was perfect at the plate for ProNine. He went 3-3 with a run scored, and a pair of RBI.  Anthony Womer also was never retired at the plate. He went 1-1 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and a RBI.

DIAMONDS LAST FOREVER

STRUTHERS OH- Diamond Hit Club rocked the boat in their opening round matchup in the NABF 18U division on Thursday. They dominated their way to a 10-3 victory over North Coast Select.

The production of the Diamond Hit Club offense was well spread out.  Stephen Osowski went 2-4 on the day with a pair of RBI.  Michael Bodzenta managed 2 RBI on a 1-3 day. He also drew 2 walks.  Dylan VonderHaar also knocked in 2 RBI on a 1-3 effort.  He walked once as well.

Shawn Kessie pitched his team to victory on the mound. He went the complete game throwing all 7 innings.  He gave up 3 runs on 10 hits and struck out 5.

 

BONNIE BEES EDGE OUT HURRICANES

STRUTHERS OH- The offenses were alive and well on Thursday in a16U NABF matchup between the Ohio Hurricanes, and the Brooklyn Bonnie Bees.  Trailing by 2 in the bottom of the 7th, the Bees scored 3 to earn a walk off victory 9-8.

Julian Poleon blasted 2 RBI home after going 1-3 with a run scored.  Yaniel Torres had multiple hits going 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.  Jerrame Marizan went 1-2 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored, and a RBI.  Matthew Campbell went 1-4 with a RBI.

Brandon Lurie had a great day for the Hurricanes going 2-4 with a run scored. He hit in 2 RBI.  Jaden Murdock also captured 2 RBI going 2-5. He scored a run as well.  Jaylen Greer went 2-3 with a run scored, a walk, and a RBI.

THE TIDE RISES ABOVE THE TITANS

STRUTHERS OH- The Ohio Tide scored in 5 of the 7 innings on Thursday in their opening game of the NABF 16U World Series. The offense exploded to a 15-5 victory over The Ohio Titans Baseball Club.

Matthew Richardson brought the big bats to the Tide’s lineup as he knocked in 4 RBI on a 1-4 day.  Alex Mester charged a great day going 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and 2 RBI. Brett Zawatsky was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Brandon Henderson also got 2 RBI on a 1-2 day. He scored 2 runs, and walked once.

Mathew Packard got the win for the Tide on the bump. He went 3 innings and gave up 1 run on 1 hit and struck out 4.

Matthew Halas was a bright spot for the Titans who struggled on offense. He went 2-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Michael Sudduth was the most productive hitter knocking in 3 runs going 1-3.  Carter Chapman also gathered a RBI for the Titans.

CREEKSIDE ROPES THE LONGHORNS

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside’s 16U squad opened up their NABF World Series run on a strong note Thursday with a 7-3 win over the Ohio Longhorns Lally.

Tyler Mikulin had a strong bat going 1-2 with 3 RBI on the day. Carter Owens managed multiple hits going 2-3 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.  Frank Senediak also managed multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Mason Petridis grabbed multiple hits as well going 2-3 with a run scored.

Owens was given the win on the hill for Creekside. He went 3.2 innings and gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8.

NABF: CREEKSIDE FALLS JUST SHORT OF NABF TITLE, NEW YORK 9 ARE CROWNED

STRUTHERS, OH-  The New York Nine sits atop of the NABF Senior mountain top after a 5-0 victory over Creekside Fitness in the World Series finale!

New York started the scoring in the top half of the opening inning.  Reynaldo Angeles, Albery Pichardo, and Jean Carlos Morillo all hit consecutive singles to load the bases.  Justin Peralta promptly unloaded them with a bases-clearing triple to take a quick 3-0 lead.  Peralta finished his trip around the bases by scoring on a wild pitch from Ryan Sullivan.  New York leads 4-0.

Pitching and defense took over until New York plated one more run in the top half of the seventh inning.  Griffin Arnone got on base with a single.  Colm O’Shea wasted no time in bringing him in with an RBI double.  The lead for New York grew to 5-0.

Tyler D’Amico finished off what he started, completing the shutout and the World Series-clinching effort!

D’Amico scattered five hits in his complete-game shutout, striking out nine and not walking a single batter.  Ryan Sullivan took the loss for Creekside, yielding four runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched, striking out two and walking only one.  Peralta had the big blow of the game with the three-run triple, and scoring his subsequent run on the wild pitch.  O’Shea slugged an RBI double for New York in the win.  Nick Guarnieri led Creekside with a pair of hits in the contest.

NABF: IT’S UP TO YOU, NEW YORK; NY NINE PUNCH TICKET TO SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons run to another NABF Senior World Series title fell short as they lost to New York Nine 6-1.

Bryce Warwick suffered the loss for Astro, allowing all six runs (five earned) on seven hits in six innings of work while striking out nine and walking five.  Robert Bradley picked up the win for New York, tossing three shutout innings in the game.  Josh Hoffman hit an RBI single, driving in Ricky Havrilla for the only run of the game for Astro.

Reynaldo Angeles led the way for New York with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.  Albery Pichardo hit a two-run single and scored twice in the game.

NABF: CREEKSIDE ADVANCES TO SENIOR WORLD SERIES TITLE GAME AFTER BLANKING TRANSFORMERS

STRUTHERS, OH- Creekside Fitness, behind the arm of Andrew Vance, advance to the championship game of the NABF Senior World Series.

Vance dazzled with a two-hit shutout, striking out three and only walking two.  Mason Gengler took the loss for Means, yielding all three runs in just three innings of work.  Kyle Weitzel delivered an RBI double and scored a run in the game for Creekside.  Nathan Stutz hit a two-run single, while Harrison Pontoli and Nick Guarnieri each added a hit and a run scored to the winning effort.

Bryce Fredenburg and Blake Mitrzyk each had a hit in the game for Means.
