STRUTHERS, OH- After blazing through NABF Junior pool play, Creekside Fitness was put to the test on Sunday against their Class B rival, Roth Brothers.
STRUTHERS, OH- Roth Brothers falls to Release Baseball 7-4 in NABF Junior World Series pool play Saturday afternoon. Despite the loss for Roth, both teams advance to the semi-finals Sunday morning.
Trent Milliren took the loss for Roth, allowing seven runs to score in just four innings of work. Jack Florig picked up the win for Release, tossing two shutout innings in relief.
Cam Hollobaugh hit a two-run double for Roth while Anthony Cortese added a hit and two RBI to the cause.
Peter Levin had a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs for Release while Caden Contant slugged a two-run double in the game.
AUSTINTOWN, OH- Creekside Fitness finished up pool play undefeated in the NABF Junior World Series with a 6-4 victory over Troy American Legion. Creekside advances to the semi-finals Sunday morning.
Marcus Fuller pitched a complete game in the win for Creekside, yielding four runs (three earned) on four hits while striking out five and walking six. Levi Pulen got saddled with the loss for Troy, allowing six runs on seven hits in four innings of work.
Dustin Horn led all hitters with three hits and a run scored for Creekside. Koby Zupko slugged two hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored another. Gabrial Yanssens had two hits, including a double of his own, and scored a run for Creekside. Bryce Smith banged out a two-run double and touched home in the win.
Garrett Lemaster led Troy with two hits, including an RBI double and scored a run while Nathan Wooley crossed home twice in the game.
STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons played their way into the quarter-finals of the NABF Senior World Series be defeating Diamond Hit Club 8-1.
Andrew Russell went the distance in the win for Astro, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out six and walking only one. Justin Eles took the loss for Diamond Hit Club, surrendering six runs in under an inning of work. Despite the loss, Diamond Hit Club qualified for the quarter-finals as well.
Chase Franken led the way for Astro with a pair of hits, two RBI and a run scored. Braeden O’Shaughnessy hit an RBI double and scored twice while Josh Hoffman hit an RBI double and scored a run of his own in the game. Lucas Gulczynski drove in two runs and scored a run in the Astro victory.
Dylan Jackson hit an RBI double in the game for Diamond Hit Club.
STRUTHERS, OH- Knightline dropped their final game of the NABF Senior World Series 8-6 to the Brooklyn Bonnie Jays. Tom Pitko took the loss for Knightline, yielding five runs on ten hits in just over two innings of work. Dante Jocelyn picked up the win for Brooklyn, allowing four runs on seven hits in four innings of work, striking out and walking three batters each.
Tylor Martinez recorded the save for the Bonnie Jays. Colton Stoneman had two hits and two runs scored in the game for Knightline. Tom Kling slugged two hits, scored a run and drove in a run. Zach Yaskulka hit a two-run home run for Knightline.
Samuel Canela led all hitters with three hits for Brooklyn. Mario Williams had two hits, two runs, and an RBI. Martinez helped himself with a hit, a run and an RBI in the game.
STRUTHERS, OH – Creekside Fitness scored early, often, and consistently en route to a 13-2 victory over Means Transformers on day three of the NABF Senior World Series. Creekside advances on to the top eight, quarter-finals later on tonight.
Colby Anderson picked up the win for Creekside, tossing four shutout innings in relief. Means Transformers also advance to the quarter-finals by way of a wild card bid. Keith McGregor suffered the loss for Means, yielding seven runs in just 2 1/3 innings.
Danny Beistel had himself a day for Creekside, slugging three hits, including a pair of doubles, driving in four runs and scoring two more in the game. BJ Arnold had three hits, two runs, and an RBI while Brady Hansen added two hits, two runs and an RBI of his own. Dylan Gurski hit an RBI triple and scored twice in the win.
Carson Kwapiszewski had two hits for Means, including a triple, and scored a run in the game.
