LATE SCORE SEALS A SELECT VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- The North Coast Select and East Coast Michigan faced off on Saturday in the 18U NABF World Series. With the game tied going into the seventh, one run and sound defense for the Select was all it took to take the victory, 4-3.

For the Select, Gavin Padgett had a 2-4 day with an RBI. Cooper Clark went 1-2 with a run scored. Owen Horvath did not record a hit, but did draw 3 walks and scored 2 runs. Joshua Hernandez scored a run and drew a walk on a 1-3 effort on the day. 

Connor Pick got the win on the mound for the Select. In his 6 IP, he gave up 3 earned runs on 5 hits. He struck out 2 on the day.

FALCONS HAVE NO TROUBLES

STRUTHERS OH- There we’re no issues for the Astro Falcons on Friday night as they smashed North Coast Select 13-2.

Ben Slanker proved too much for the North Coast pitching staff. He was never retired going 2-2 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  David Kessler went 2-3 with a run scored, a walk, and a pair of RBI.  Tyler Armstrong also collected a pair of RBI.  Joe Roth anchored the lineup by going 2-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Gavin Miller also got himself a RBI going 1-2. He also scored 3 runs and walked twice.

Zach Herb got the win on the mound for the Astro Falcons. He went all 5 innings of the shortened game, and gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits.  He struck out 9 while only walking 2.

DIAMONDS LAST FOREVER

STRUTHERS OH- Diamond Hit Club rocked the boat in their opening round matchup in the NABF 18U division on Thursday. They dominated their way to a 10-3 victory over North Coast Select.

The production of the Diamond Hit Club offense was well spread out.  Stephen Osowski went 2-4 on the day with a pair of RBI.  Michael Bodzenta managed 2 RBI on a 1-3 day. He also drew 2 walks.  Dylan VonderHaar also knocked in 2 RBI on a 1-3 effort.  He walked once as well.

Shawn Kessie pitched his team to victory on the mound. He went the complete game throwing all 7 innings.  He gave up 3 runs on 10 hits and struck out 5.
