Adoni has spent his high school years honing his skills and solidifying his reputation as a dependable and tenacious player. With an imposing physique and an unmatched work ethic, he has been a linchpin in the Bulldogs’ offensive line, providing crucial protection for the quarterback and creating pathways for running backs to thrive. THE ANCHOR OF THE DEFENSE

ASHTABULA OH- Edgewood High School’s senior volleyball star, McKenna Vencill, is a force to be reckoned with both on and off the court. As the team’s senior captain and libero, Vencill is often hailed as the anchor of the Warriors’ defense. Her prowess in the sport is undeniable, and she carries a legacy that runs deep within the Edgewood community.

The Vencill name is synonymous with excellence in Edgewood, with family members playing pivotal roles in various sports. Alongside McKenna,  Faith Vencill shares the volleyball court, while Kyra Vencill, holds the reins as the head coach. Meanwhile, her father, Randy Vencill, coaches her in basketball and softball, creating a family bond tightly knit by their love for sports. Her brother Zack, who recently wrapped up an outstanding basketball career, adds to the family’s impressive athletic legacy.

In 2022, McKenna Vencill’s performance was nothing short of outstanding. She led the team with an impressive 406 digs, showcasing her remarkable defensive skills. Averaging 4.7 digs per set, she demonstrated her consistency and reliability in the libero position. Moreover, Vencill’s 535 serve receives with only 11 receiving errors throughout the season highlight her exceptional ball-handling abilities.

The 2023 season has seen Vencill elevate her game even further. Through 12 games, she has amassed 294 digs while committing a mere 3 errors, averaging an astonishing 7.5 digs per set. Her 223 serve receives continue to underscore her unwavering precision and dependability in key moments. Additionally, she has notched an impressive 21 aces, showcasing her versatility on the court.

One of Vencill’s most remarkable achievements was reaching the milestone of 1000 career digs earlier in the season, an indication of her unwavering dedication to the sport. Her career total now stands at an impressive 1,049 digs, a testament to her consistency and commitment.

Beyond her exceptional volleyball skills, McKenna Vencill is a true four-sport athlete, participating in golf in the fall, basketball, softball, and volleyball throughout the year. Her ability to excel in multiple sports exemplifies her status as a true athlete, showcasing her dedication, versatility, and leadership both on and off the court. RIVERA PUTS HER BEST FOOT FORWARD ON THE BIG STAGE

BOARDMAN OH- As Boardman High School’s senior standout, Sophia Rivera, takes to the golf course, she exemplifies not just talent but also resilience and determination. Rivera recently made headlines when she secured victory as the medalist in the AAC Championship, showcasing her incredible golfing prowess.

Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions with intermittent rain that transitioned into a downpour, Sophia Rivera proved her mettle on the greens. Facing the adversity of the elements while not feeling her best physically, she managed to outshine her competition with an outstanding round. Rivera’s score of 77 at Mill Creek Golf Course was not only remarkable but also a testament to her skill and mental fortitude.

Sophia Rivera’s victory in the AAC Championship wasn’t just about personal accolades; it was a display of her commitment to the sport and her team. Even as Canfield secured the team win, Rivera’s individual performance stood out, outshooting her nearest competitor by a significant margin.

Looking ahead, Rivera has her sights set on the district play, with the ultimate goal of earning a trip to the state championship. Her ambition and dedication are evident in her pursuit of excellence on the golf course.

Beyond her high school career, Sophia Rivera has exciting prospects lined up. SANDERS KEEPS SAVING THE DAY

BELOIT OH- In the world of soccer, few positions are as mentally demanding as that of a goalkeeper. It takes a unique mindset, a blend of courage and unwavering focus to stand between the goalposts, the last line of defense against the relentless attacks of the opposing team. For Zoe Sanders, West Branch High School’s senior goalkeeper, this role is not just a position on the field; it’s a way of life.

In the 2022 season, West Branch boasted an impressive 15-1-3 record, and a significant part of their success can be attributed to Zoe’s remarkable work guarding the net. The team allowed a mere 11 goals throughout the season, a testament to Zoe’s exceptional skills and dedication to her craft.

One record that speaks volumes about Zoe’s prowess is her standing as the program’s all-time leader in career shutouts, totaling an impressive 19. Every time Zoe steps onto the field, she carries with her a legacy of resilience and an uncanny ability to keep the opposition at bay.

This season, West Branch is continuing its tradition of excellence, currently maintaining an undefeated record while conceding just 7 goals. Zoe’s presence as the guardian of the goal is a vital factor in the team’s continued success. One electric player is wide receiver, David Moore He is a force to be reckoned with as his natural athleticism and exceptional speed have set him apart. His journey with the Red Devils has been marked by unforgettable catches, game-changing touchdowns, and a remarkable ability to read the field. Beyond his outstanding on-field contributions, David’s commitment to his teammates and his unwavering work ethic have made him a natural leader both on and off the field. Another key member of this talented Red Devils squad is offensive line, Cayden Thomas. Cayden is a vital presence for the Campbell Memorial Red Devils, with a strong work ethic and unmatched determination, Cayden plays a crucial role in protecting the team’s quarterback and opening up running lanes for the backfield. NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – The Springfield Tigers football team is improving more and more each week and building confidence more and more as the season goes on. One senior, Jacob Lample, has been quietly building his football skills and leadership qualities week in and week out until exploding onto the scene last week against Waterloo. Lample, is a true double threat as an offensive tackle and a defensive end, who’s talent exemplifies the essence of versatility and dedication. On the offensive line, he stands tall providing a formidable shield for his teammates and opening pathways to victory with his exceptional blocking skills. Simultaneously, as a defensive end, he is a relentless force, disrupting opponents’ plays and sacking quarterbacks with an unwavering determination. Jacob’s commitment to the game and his ability to excel on both sides of the ball and also in the classroom, showcase his extraordinary talent and his unyielding passion for representing the Tigers with pride every single day.
