BULLDOGS WIN STREAK REACHES TEN

NILES OH- Lakeview has now opened the season on a 10 match win streak. They stayed dominant in the NE8 with a sweep of Niles on Tuesday (25-12 25-15 25-14).

The Bulldogs has a balanced offense, with three players surpassing 5 kills. Emma Shmader led with 9. She also finished with 4 aces, 4 digs, and a block. Tara Lytle has 8 kills, 6 aces, a dig, and a block. Anna Peterson finished with 5 kills. Maggie Pavlansky set up the offense with 21 assists. Pavlansky also finished with 5 digs, and 4 aces. Maddie Bayus led Lakeview in digs with 10.

Lakeview moves on to a big conference test as they host 13-3 Girard. Niles will host Struthers on Thursday trying to bounce back.

BULLDOGS TAKE A BITE OUT OF STRUTHERS

CORTLAND OH- Lakeview Volleyball continues it’s dominance over the NE8 with a sweep of Struthers on Thursday (25-15 25-23 25-14).

Leading the Bulldogs was Tara Lytle was 11 kills, 4 aces, an assist, and a dig. Anna Peterson also added 8 kills. Maggie Pavlansky ran the offense well finishing with 25 assists. Maddie Bayus patrolled the back row and got 13 digs.

Lakeview looks to stay hot as they travel to Poland on Tuesday. Struthers will want to bounce back on Tuesday as they travel to Jefferson.

LAKEVIEW SLAMS DOWN INDIANS

CORTLAND OH- Lakeview continued their dominance of the NE8 with a sweep of Girard on Tuesday. They were two competitive sets out of three, but Lakeview always came out on top. (25-21 25-13 25-20).

Tara Lytle led the Bulldogs with 6 kills, 4 aces, 3 blocks, and 2 digs.  Brooke Schnider put together a fantastic defensive night with 18 digs. Maggie Pavlansky had 10 assists.

For the Indians, Lauren Pallone had a match high 12 kills. Allison Durkin had 12 digs.  Durkin, and Sophie Griffith split the setting each gathering 10 assists.

Girard travels to Poland on Thursday trying to bounce back. Lakeview looks to keep on winning as they host Struthers on Thursday.

BULLDOGS WIPE OUT NILES

CORTLAND OH- Lakeview volleyball continued their dominant stretch in the NE8 on Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep of Niles (25-13 25-16 25-9). Lakeview has not lost a conference game since September 25, 2018 at Jefferson.

Tara Lytle and Anna Peterson led the Bulldogs with kills with 7 each. Teagan Pierce had 5 aces on the night. Maddie Bayus led in digs with 14. Maggie Pavlansky set up 12 assists.

Lakeview returns to action on Monday traveling to Girard.

LAKEVIEW BLOCKS RAIDERS RALLY

The Raiders welcomes the reigning NE8 champions, Lakeview into their gym Thursday night. Although the Raiders gave the Bulldogs just their second lost set in league play this season, Lakeview still took the match in four sets (25-16 25-20 21-25 25-22)

The first set can be summed up simply to a poor hitting start by the Raiders. They could not stay away from unforced errors. The Raiders finished the set with three more errors than kills that led to a hitting percentage of -.097. Lakeview scored the last 7 points of the set and took it 25-16.

The Raiders cleaned things up dramatically in set number two. Anna Primavera and Abby George has huge sets. George had 4 kills while Primavera had 5. However, the Bulldogs were up for the task as Lexi Inman flexed her muscles and led the Bulldogs past the Raiders in set two 25-20.

The tough serving of the Raiders wore down Lakeview in set three. Emily Irons had been getting Lakeview out of system all night, but in set three she finally got some aces out of her jump serve. Her serve helped the Raiders score a 5 point rally to lead 13-4. After Lakeview fought all the way back to tie the set at 15, the Raiders took  back a commanding lead. This time the clutch points came from Anna Primavera who tallied another 5 kill set. The Raiders took a close set three 25-21.

The fourth set was extremely competitive. For a large part of the set neither team had a leaf greater than 3. Lakeview a blocking was the difference. It forced the Raiders into bad situations. The Bulldog block was led by Tara Lytle. Lytle was a force in the front row giving the Raiders fits all night. She got the big points when her team needed them and Lakeview was able to come away with a 25-22 victory in set four, sealing the match.

The Raiders were led on offense by  Anna Primavera with 13 kills, she also gathered 5 digs. Abby George also had a strong night with 9 kills and 2 blocks. Emily Irons had 31 assists, 6 kills, and 5 aces. Reagan Irons finished with 13 digs.

The Raiders return to action Monday as they travel to Mooney. Lakeview travels to Jefferson on Tuesday.
