SHOCKLEY SHOWS OUT IN WATERLOO WIN

ATWATER OH- It was the Kyle Shockley show on Tuesday night as Waterloo controlled the game from the tip. The Vikings stomped Western Reserve 77-37,

Shockley finished the night with 29 points including three massive throw down dunks. Luke Simons was also in double figures for the Vikings with 13 points. Jack Sandel contributed 9 points to the cause.

Noah Klasic has a commendable effort for the Blue Devils on a tough night. He finished the game leading Reserve with 14 points. Ryan Gordon was also in double figures on the night with 11.

Waterloo stays home Friday night to host Jackson Milton.

JACKSON MILTON CONQUERS VIKINGS

ATWATER OH- The last time Waterloo and Jackson Milton met, it was an overtime thriller that went the way of the Blue Jays. Jackson Milton had no thoughts of overtime this time around though as they ran away from Waterloo to a 76-56 win.

Kylie Wilson was on fire tonight as she nailed 6 threes on her way to a 3: point performance. Ava Darney made things just as difficult in the post racking up 15 points. Chelsea Williams was also in double figures with 13 points.

Brooke Waldeck continued her impressive season with a 26 point performance. Kaira English contributed a solid 13 points to the Vikings offense. Rose Couts was also in double figures with 11 points.

Jackson Milton is scheduled to host Lisbon on Thursday. Waterloo will play a double header on Saturday as they’ll play Firestone at noon, and they’ll play Sebring at 6. Both games at Waterloo.

MCDONALD PULLS OUT ANOTHER THRILLER

ATWATER OH- McDonald’s season so far has not been for the faint of heart. Their 13-0 record has come with plenty of drama, and last second heroics. Last Saturday they won by three against Waterloo at home, and Friday night on the road, the story was much of the same. McDonald won by nearly the same score, escaping Waterloo with a 67-64 victory.

It was Miles Culp that shined the brightest for the Blue Devils this time around. He led the offense with 29 points. Jake Portolese contributed a strong 19 points, including some important free throws down the stretch. Dom Carkido battled foul trouble throughout the night but still managed to get in to double figures with 10.

Kyle Shockley found a lot of success for the Vikings. He scored a game-high 31 points. Luke Simons scored 15 points off the bench in the first half and finished with 17.

McDonald is scheduled to travel to Heartland Christian on Tuesday as they try to stay undefeated. Waterloo stays home to host Warren JFK on Tuesday.

WATERLOO STORMS OUT OF HALF TO TAKE DOWN ROCKETS

LOWELLVILLE OH- A very close competitive game turned into a landslide Thursday night. Waterloo traveler to Lowellville and for the first two quarters, they got all they wanted from the Rockets. The Vikings led by just three at the half, but outscored Lowellville 16-5 in the third and rolled to a 47-34 win.

Brooke Waldeck paced the Vikings with a game-high 24 points. Kaira English contributed 9 points to the cause, while Rose Couts finished with 8.

Sammie Moore had a strong night for the Rockets gathering 15 points. Francesca Lellio was also in double figures with 11. Savannah Procick added 8 points on the night.

Waterloo and Lowellville Play again on Saturday afternoon. It will be a varsity only game starting at noon.

TIGERS JUMP AHEAD OF WATERLOO

NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio –

Three Tigers scored at least 15 points to help Springfield win their fourth straight, 81-53 over the visiting Waterloo Vikings.

The Tigers (11-3) jumped out of the gates hot and had the Vikings (7-3) on their heels from the start. After Springfield got out to a quick 10-point lead, Waterloo head coach Jason Wise took a timeout to try and regroup his team.

For the moment, Wise’s timeout worked, and the Vikings were able to close the gap to as little as 2 but would end the first quarter trailing 16-9.

A strong 20point burst from Springfield led by Adam Wharry’s 7 second quarter points was enough to put the Tigers ahead by 12 going into the half.

The second half was a mirror image of the first. Each time Waterloo would close the gap, Springfield would explode offensively and increase their lead. With their win tonight, the Tigers improve to 8-1 in MVAC conference play.

SpringfieldThe Tigers must wait until Saturday to jump back into action, but it will be the same opponent they saw tonight. Springfield will make the trip to Atwater for their second straight matchup against the Waterloo Vikings.

WaterlooFor the Vikings, they’ll be on the court this Friday against the McDonald Blue Devils (13-0), a team they just played last Saturday.

WATERLOO CONTROLS TROJANS FROM THE TIP

ATWATER OH- Kyle Shockley, a recent 1000 point career scorer, added more to his resume scoring 25 points in leading the 7-1 Waterloo Vikings to a win over the Sebring Trojans 70-37.

Waterloo took the lead from the opening tip-off and held a 41-16 advantage at the half. Waterloo’s Jack Sandel dropped in 13 points and Luke Simmons was right behind him with 12 points.

The Trojans 3-12 for the season  received 9 points from Dylan Johnson and 8 from Anthony Calderone. Waterloo and undefeated McDonald will battle it out Saturday afternoon

BLUE DEVILS WASH OUT WATERLOO

ATWATER OH- McDonald knew coming in how fast of a start Waterloo had on Monday against Springfield, and they were not having it. After holding the Vikings to just 4 first quarter points, the Blue Devils rolled to a 79-42 win over Waterloo.

Molly Howard was rolling on all cylinders, she led McDonald with 29 points. Sophia Constantino also had a strong performance dropping 24. Taylor Tuchek added 8.

Waterloo did get two players in to double figures, Brooke Waldeck led the way with 21. Impressive freshman Kaira English contributed 11.

McDonald stays in the league Saturday as they travel to Lowellville. Waterloo has a non conference game Saturday against Newton Falls

VIKINGS SHOOT THE LIGHTS OUT IN SPRINGFIELD

SPRINGFIELD OH- The Waterloo Vikings came out of the gate red hot, hitting on 9 3-pointers in the 1st quarter to put up 35 points to put the game away with a 63-43 win over the Springfield Tigers.

Brooke Waldeck had a big night for the Vikings with 28 points with teammate Karen English hitting for 15 points.

The Tigers Jacey Mullen scored 21 points to lead her team.

TIGERS WIPE OUT WATERLOO ON SENIOR NIGHT

SPRINGFIELD OH- The Springfield  Tigers pulled out a big win against Waterloo, 64-57 on Thursday night.  On Senior Night, the seniors came up big: Kylee Kosek scored 17 and Abby Joseph put in 13 to pace the Tigers. Springfield’s Jacey Mullen led all scorers with 21, and Peyton Kliem added 9.

For Waterloo, Rose Couts and Kaira English scored 18 each and Brooke Waldeck added 16.

The Tigers will travel to Waterloo on Monday for a rematch with the Vikings.

BLUE JAYS PREVAIL IN OVERTIME

NORTH JACKSON OH- Jackson Milton came in to Monday night’s matchup trying to bounce back from a tough loss to McDonald. Waterloo was going in to their second game of the season, and their first since December 2. The offenses showed no rust though, as both teams had success scoring. The Blue Jays needed overtime to protect their home court with a 65-62.

Leading the Blue Jays was Ava Darney who finished with 19 points. Kylie Wilson was right behind her contributing 18 points. Camryn Mitchell was also in double figures with 11.

Leading Waterloo was senior Brooke Waldeck with a game-high 23 points. Kaira English had a strong night as well with 18 points.

Jackson Milton will look to keep winning as they host Sebring on Thursday. Waterloo will look to get into the flow of a season as they host Mineral Ridge on Thursday.
