URSULINE BATS DUMP THE DUKES

CANFIELD OH- Ayva  Fedor came the ballpark and meant business on Sunday, driving in five on three hits to lead Ursuline past Marlington 15-7 on Sunday. Fedor drove in runs on a in the first, a single in the fourth, and a single in the seventh.

Ursuline collected 15 hits and Marlington had 12 in the high-scoring affair.

The Irish captured the lead in the second inning when Liza Barbato singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Ursuline took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Paige Ogden doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, Mia Opalick singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Madelyn Miklandric singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Fedor singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Opalick was the winning pitcher for Ursuline. The righty went three innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out four. Ogden threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Irish totaled 15 hits. Opalick, Fedor, Miklandric, and Layni Bednar all managed multiple hits for Ursuline Varsity Fighting Irish. Opalick went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Ursuline Varsity Fighting Irish in hits.
