URSULINE COOLS OFF THE WARRIORS

CANFIELD OH- Paige Ogden was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Sunday, driving in four on three hits to lead Ursuline past West Branch 10-4 on Sunday. Ogden drove in runs on a home run in the second and a home run in the seventh.

Ursuline grabbed an early lead. They scored on a single by Madelyn Miklandric in the first inning, a double by Kyleigh Golden in the second inning, a double by Alyssa Sheely in the second inning, and a home run by Ogden in the second inning.

The Irish took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Golden doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Sheely doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, and Ogden homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Ogden earned the win for Ursuline. The righthander allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six. Mia Opalick and Liza Barbato entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. They held down a West Branch offense that had scored 55 runs in their first 5 games.

Riley Pittman took the loss for West Branch. The pitcher lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one.

Tori McKay started the game for the Warriors. McKay allowed nine hits and seven runs over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking one

Ursuline tallied two home run on the day. Ogden went deep in the second and seventh innings.

The Irish scattered 14 hits in the game. Ogden, Miklandric, Sheely, and Katie Koulianos each collected multiple hits for Ursuline Varsity Fighting Irish. Sheely, Miklandric, and Ogden each managed three hits to lead Ursuline Varsity Fighting Irish.

Ragan Greeneisen led West Branch with two hits in four at bats.
