RELENTLESS BOMBERS OFFENSE WINS THE DAY

By Noah Ricks

NILES, OH – In a NAC showdown out at Eastwood Field, the Windham Bombers cooked things up against Badger. Their superb base running would be more than enough to take home a 14-6 victory.

The Bombers started the scoring right from the first pitch as lead off batter Dylan McCune placed a nice line-drive into the outfield for an inside-the-park home run. In just 3 at-bats in the night, McCune picked up 4 runs off of 3 hits, as well as 2 RBIs. Windham alao got another inside-the-park home run from Jack Eye in the top of the first. Eye would finish with 1 run off of 3 hits and 2 RBIs.

Despite falling behind big to start, Badger would keep themselves in the game thanks to 5 runs combined in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Overall, the Braves would compile 10 hits and 6 RBIs, as they were led by senior hitter Jacob Toto, who had 1 run off of 3 hits and 1 RBI.

Despite the Badger push, the Bombers would hold up strong on defense to close it out. Starting pitcher Brian King went all 7 innings and cash in 10 strikeouts to seal the deal in the end.

Windham (4-9) will now face Mathews on the road today while Badger (0-10) will travel out to Lordstown for Game 2 of the season series. The Bombers of Windham learned to adjust and make the right corrections needed to end up victorious in the end.
