URSULINE STARTS STRONG IN NEW CAMPAIGN

STRUTHERS, OH-An early lead helped Ursuline defeat Warren John F. Kennedy 6-3 on Wednesday. Ursuline scored on a double by Brady Shannon in the first inning, a walk by Joe Carosella in the first inning, and a single by Luca Ricchiuti in the second inning.

Ursuline pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Ricchiuti singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Andrew Kirila toed the rubber for the Irish. The southpaw allowed seven hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five.

Jaden Rishel led things off on the mound for Kennedy. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out three.

Ursuline tallied eight hits on the day. Shannon and Johnny Cambert all managed multiple hits for Ursuline. Cambert and Shannon each collected two hits to lead the Irish.

Kennedy racked up ten hits. Aidan Rossi, Caleb Hadley, and Jake Hettrick each racked up multiple hits for JFK. Rossi led the Eagles with three hits in four at-bats
