WATERLOO HANGS ON TO BEAT RAIDERS

CANFIELD, OH- The South Range Boys Basketball team falls to 8-5 on the season with a tough loss to a 12-1 (coming into tonight) Waterloo team. The Raiders and Vikings traded blows throughout the 1st half ending the half 28-25 Waterloo leading. The Raiders fought hard in the 3rd but the Vikings extended their lead a bit more going into the 4th. South Range looked their best in the 4th with great defensive play, forcing Waterloo to take bad shots. Time was not on the Raiders side, and the Vikings extended their lead off free throws and time ran out for South Range to make a comeback, ending the game 54-51. 

Chris Brooks lead the way with 17 points, also Nate Brown and Dante Digaetano both added 7. Waterloo had a great offensive game with 3 players ending in double figures. Caleb Francis ended with 16, Vaughn Dorsey ended with 16 and topped it off with a nice 2-hand slam that really motivated the Vikings. Kyle Shokley finished with 14 off four 3’s on the night.

South Range will be back in action on Friday and will travel to Lakeview. Tip-off for the JV will be at 5:30. Varsity at 7:00. Catch it on YSN!
