WATTS TOSSES ANOTHER NO-NO

AUSTINTOWN, OH-  In what’s becoming a delightful trend for the Austintown Fitch Lady Falcons, junior pitcher Sydnie Watts tossed another gem, securing a no-hitter in their dominant 15-0 win over the Howland Lady Tigers this Monday. Watts, showing poise and precision, struck out 14 batters over five innings, stamping her authority and maintaining a perfect ERA for the game.

Watts wasn’t just a star from the circle; she also contributed heavily at the plate. She cracked a crucial home run in the second inning that brought three runners home, adding a single later in the fifth to cap off her four-RBI day. It’s performances like these that underline her pivotal role in the team, showcasing her dual-threat capability.

Austintown Fitch’s lineup was relentless throughout the game, showcasing their depth and batting prowess. Notably, Sam Severn went a perfect 3-for-3, while Ayla Ray and Kaliana Ray displayed their speed on the bases, swiping a combined five bags. The team’s disciplined approach at the plate was evident as they worked eight walks, keeping the pressure on Howland’s pitchers all game.

Defensively, the Lady Falcons were flawless. Watts, along with infielders Kylie Folkwein and Abby Toth, held down a perfect fielding percentage, turning one double play and showing off their slick glove work to keep Howland at bay.

Looking ahead, the Lady Falcons seem poised to continue their strong season with another matchup against Howland on the road, and with standout players like Watts leading the charge both in the circle and at bat.  If Watts and the Lady Falcons can maintain this level of play, Austintown Fitch fans have a lot to look forward to as the season progresses.
