AUSTINTOWN GETS A RESPONSE IN REGIONALS

WHITESTOWN IN- Austintown beat Wisconsin 4-2 on Monday in an elimination game in the Little League Regional tournament.

Austintown opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two singles. Austintown first got on the board when Ava Fisher singled, scoring one run.

A single by Bella Baumgart extended the Austintown lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Annabel Mikesell started the game for Austintown. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking two.

Austintown tallied eight hits in the game. Tori Greathouse and Zara Burt were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits. Greathouse, Baumgart, and Fisher each drove in one run for Austintown.

Austintown will play in another elimination game on Tuesday as they take on Michigan at 1:00. That game can be seen on ESPN+.
