BARONS HAPPY TO BE BACK ON THE FIELD

STRUTHERS OH- 18U action was back at Bob Cene Park on Friday night, and the 3B Barons started off with a bang, crushing Athletix 16-3.

The Barons’ offense was relentless from the start, with Nick Thomas leading the way by going 2-3 with 5 RBIs and 2 runs. Brady McGuire matched his intensity, finishing 2-3 with 3 RBIs, a walk, and 3 runs. Ben Miller added to the scoring with a 1-2 performance, driving in 2 runs, drawing 2 walks, and scoring twice. Jimmy Roe, Kallen Durbin, and Joey Campoli also chipped in with key hits and runs, making it a complete team effort.

On the mound, Zyler Freedman held it down for the Barons, pitching 4 innings and giving up just 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 3. His solid performance kept Athletix at bay and allowed the Barons’ offense to shine.

Athletix had some bright spots at the plate, with Konnor Brogan going 2-2 and driving in 2 runs, and Tyler Wardle matching him with a perfect 2-2 night and a run scored. Evan Tice and Brendan Ray also contributed, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Barons’ firepower.
