BULLDOGS KNOCK OFF SOUTH RANGE FOR THE FIRST TIME

CANFIELD OH- Lakeview secured a historic win on the road Monday, notching their first victory over South Range as a member of the NE8 with a hard-fought 36-32 triumph. The game remained tightly contested, deadlocked at 26-26 at the end of the third quarter.

Mack Stowe played a pivotal role, tying the game at 26 with back-to-back threes from Devin Sauerwein and Madi Dado briefly giving South Range a 26-24 lead.

With the score knotted at 31-31 in the final frame, Sophie Irwin, coming off the bench, made a significant impact, propelling the Bulldogs to a 33-31 lead. Makenna Werner sealed the victory with crucial free throws down the stretch, securing the 36-32 win.

Stowe led the scoring for Lakeview with 10 points, the lone player in double figures on the night.

Buoyed by this momentum, Lakeview (3-6) now looks ahead to a challenging matchup on Thursday as they face off against Poland. South Range, on the other hand, will hit the road to take on Hubbard, seeking to bounce back from the close defeat. The victory for Lakeview marks a memorable moment in their NE8 campaign.
