CANFIELD HAS NO PROBLEMS SECURING DISTRICT TROPHY

HUBBARD OH- In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, Canfield’s girls’ soccer team surged to a remarkable 20-0-1 record by clinching the Division 2 district championship with a resounding 8-0 victory over Streetsboro.

The scoreboard was lit up by Canfield’s precision and determination, with goals coming from multiple players. Maci Toporcer led the charge with an impressive four goals to her name, showcasing her scoring prowess. Lorieona Jannone, Hanna Wahib, Gabby Orr, and Rachel Lamb each contributed a goal, highlighting the depth of talent in Canfield’s lineup.

Assists were distributed generously, with Gianna Marino, Hanna Wahib, Ava Paris, Maci Toporcer, and Rachel Lamb all playing pivotal roles in setting up the scoring opportunities.

Lolo Padgett, Canfield’s keeper, demonstrated her skills by making a crucial save to maintain the team’s clean sheet. Canfield’s defense was impenetrable, limiting Streetsboro to just one shot on goal, while Canfield fired an impressive 17 shots on their opponent’s net.

With this outstanding win, Canfield now advances to the regional semifinal, where they’ll face Alliance.
