NO HITS EQUALS NO LUCK FOR POTTERS

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- Wheeling Park really turned up the heat in the fifth inning, driving in seven runs to cruise past East Liverpool Potters with an 11-1 rout on Friday.

The action started early when Nate Simon smacked a single in the top of the first, and Braydon Kupsky lifted a sac fly to put Wheeling Park up by two. They kept the pedal to the metal in the third, with Kupsky roping a double and Nate Brittinger putting the ball in play to bring in runs through a fielder’s choice.

The fifth inning was where Wheeling Park blew the lid off. They capitalized on an error, drew a walk with the bases juiced, and Jed cracked a two-run single to kick things into high gear. Kolton added to the tally with a sac fly, Simon grounded out to bring another run home, and Kupsky delivered again with an RBI single.

On the mound, Simon was dealing, tossing a no-hit, one-run gem over five innings, punching out five and issuing just one walk. On the flip side, Malachi Reed struggled for East Liverpool, surrendering 10 runs (six earned) over four innings.

Kupsky was a major force, batting 2-for-2 and driving in three runs, while Rocco Digindomico went 3-for-4 to top Wheeling Park’s hit parade. Jed also had a solid day at the dish, going 2-for-3. Speed on the bases was shown by Jared Marsh, who swiped two bags.

Next up, the Potters are set to clash with Madonna on Wednesday, hoping to bounce back from today’s tough loss.
