BLAINE’S NO HITTER HIGHLIGHTS SALEM TOURNAMENT WIN

SALEM OH- Morgane Blaine etched her name in Salem softball lore with a stunning no-hitter, joining the elite ranks of Shannon Leininger (1996) and Taylor Thorpe (2018). Dominating Harvey, Blaine racked up 14 strikeouts in just 5 innings, including a run of nine straight. Not only did she dazzle on the mound, reaching a season total of 105 strikeouts, but Blaine also shined at the plate, reaching base every time and swiping three bases. The Quakers would roll to a 11-0 win.

The Quakes came out swinging, mirroring their explosive start against Crestview the previous night, by putting up eight runs in the first inning alone. Lauryn Barton was a major force, smashing a base-clearing triple in the first and adding another in the fourth, finishing the game with four RBIs—just one short of the single-game record.

Mikayla Sneltzer added another hit for Salem, while Channing Toy and Morgane Blaine each reached base in all three appearances, with Toy snagging a steal of her own.

Next up, Salem heads to Aurora for the sectional finals this Thursday, riding high on their latest showcase of talent.
