TOUGH LOSS FOR JFK AGAINST LAKE CENTER

NILES, OH- On the mound, both teams showed solid skill, but Lake Center Christian edged out Kennedy with some clutch hitting for a tight 2-1 win. Andrew Lapolla held the fort for Kennedy, working through six and a third innings, allowing just one run on six hits, while striking out three.

Kennedy kept it close and knotted the score at one apiece in the sixth, thanks to Caleb Hadley who sent one deep to left for a solo home run. But Lake Center Christian broke the tie in the eighth with a critical RBI single.

Grant Coblentz snagged the win with a clean 2.2 innings, giving up just one run. Michael Bartoe was tagged with the loss, allowing the go-ahead run in his 1.2 innings of work. Brayden Myers started strong for Lake Center, tossing over five innings of shutout ball.

Hadley was the standout at the plate for Kennedy, notching one RBI and going 1-for-4. The team kept it clean in the field, turning a double play without committing any errors, with Jaden Rishel getting in on plenty of action.

For Lake Center, Harrison Coblentz led the charge, going 3-for-4 and driving in a run, helping his team stay flawless in the field alongside Braidon Miller.

Next up, Kennedy hosts St. John on Wednesday, looking to bounce back from this narrow defeat.
