RED DEVILS FIRE UP ON SENIOR NIGHT

STRUTHERS,OH-  On a night to recognize the Red Devil Seniors, Kosta Patris was a beast on the mound, throwing a gem with 10 strikeouts as Memorial Red Devils edged out Chaney 3-2 on Friday. Patris kept his cool, allowing just three hits and two runs through seven solid innings, with just one walk.

Pitchers from both teams brought their A-game, with Memorial’s arms notching 10 strikeouts and Chaney’s lineup sitting down 11.

Chaney struck first, scoring in the opening frame on a fielder’s choice off B Johnson. But Memorial didn’t let that rattle them. Bobby Ramirez grounded out in the second to even the score.

Chaney nudged ahead again in the fifth, thanks to a clutch single by l Moon. Not to be outdone, Memorial capitalized on a Chaney error in the same inning to tie things up at 2-2.

The Red Devils took the lead for good in the sixth when Ramirez came through with another crucial RBI single, making it 3-2.

Johnson started for Chaney, and despite a solid effort with 11 strikeouts over six innings, unearned runs allowed Memorial to grab the win.

Duan Reynolds was on point for Memorial, leading the hit parade with two knocks in three at-bats. Ramirez, besides tying the game, was key on the defensive end too. The base paths were basically a sprinting track for Memorial, who stole a whopping 14 bases, with Patris, Pano Kolidakis, and Avey Vazquez each swiping multiple bags.

For Chaney, Johnson added an RBI, while B Polk, D Pagan, and Moon each bagged a hit.

Memorial now looks to carry this momentum into their next showdown at Liberty on Monday.
