EAGLE WEAR SETTLES FOR TIE WITH BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear and Ballistic Baseball fought to a tie in 16U action on Saturday. Eagle wear trailed 5-2 in the 6th inning but rallied in the bottom of the frame with three runs. 

Zach Luciano went 1-1 for Eagle Wear with a RBI. Ian Barton also had a good day going 1-2 with a walk, he also scored a run. Anthony Caruso, and Joe Roth also added RBIs on the day.

Josh Ruben had a perfect day at the plate for Ballistic going 2-2 with a walk, and scoring a run. JR Prossen, and Jack Dascenzo both had a RBI on the day.

Jake Papagallo pitches 5 innings for Eagle Wear he gave up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and struck out 7.

Tre Ciaveralla pitched well for Ballistic going 3 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits. He struck out a pair.

ASTRO FALCONS STILL FLYING HIGH

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons continued their dominance over Class B on Friday night with a 13-1 win over Ballistic Baseball. The big inning for the Falcons came in the 6th when they scored 6 runs. After trailing 1-0 after an inning, the Falcons pitching staff shut down the Ballistic offense.

Tino Campoli was seeing the ball well at the plate for the Falcons going 2-4 with 3 RBI. Griffin Widrig contributed 3 RBI as well.

Josh Ruben was a bright spot for Ballistic’s offense going 2-3 and scoring a run.

Steven Tarnoci got the win on the bump for the Falcons. He threw 2 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 5.

Brock Baker pitches pretty well for Ballistic only giving up 2 earned runs in 3 innings. He struck out a pair.

CORLL DAZZLES IN KNIGHTLINE VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- Jake Corll was dominant in Knightline’s Friday night win over Dura Edge. In what was a pitching duel for most of the game turned into a large 5-0 victory for Knightline as they scored 5 runs in the 6th inning.

Mikey Sciortino has a good day at the plate for Knightline going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Jake Kling also went 2-3.

Karter Weitzel was one of the only batter to find consistent success for Dura Edge going 2-2

Corll went 6 innings, giving up 0 runs on 5 hits and striking out 9. He threw 90 pitches.

Josh Reed threw well for Dura Edge, none of the 4 runs that scored while he was on the mound were earned. He gave up 6 hits and struck out 5.

ROTH BROTHERS RALLY TO BEAT WHITING ROLL-OFFS

STRUTHERS OH- Roth Brothers trailed most of the game against Whiting Roll-Offs on Friday night. Down 4-1 after 4 innings, the Roth Brothers scored 1 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th to overcome the deficit and win 6-4.

Conner Miller had a huge night for Roth Brothers going 3-3 with a RBI. He also scored 2 runs. Christian Mudrey also went 3-3 with a RBI.

Ken Lavrich led Whiting Roll-Offs going 2-4 with 2 RBI. Josh Pallerino also collected an RBI as he walked twice in the game.

Mike Zapka pitched well for Roth Brothers throwing 4 innings and giving up no runs. He surrendered 2 hits and struck out 3.

Pallerino struck out 4 for Whiting Roll-Offs giving up 4 hits and 1 run.

FAST START LEADS CREEKSIDE OVER AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside was able to get the win Friday night against Avalanche thanks in part to their fast offensive start. Creekside scored 6 runs in the top of the first. Avalanche would answer with 3 in the bottom, but it was too high of a mountain to climb for them.

Tommy Groner went 1-1 for Creekside with 2 RBI. Devin Gruver had a nice day as well going 1-2 with 2 RBI.  Jack Desmond added 2 RBI.

Julian Trott went 2-3 at the plate for Avalanche. Paxton Grimes added an RBI to his count.

David Posey got the win on the mound for Creekside. He pitched 3 innings, gave up 3 runs on 2 hits and also struck out 2.

 

KNIGHTLINE’S QUICK START LEADS TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS, OH- Knightline continued to impress on Tuesday night as they battled their way to a 7-3 victory over the Whiting Roll-Offs.

Perhaps the most impressive of the bunch was Guy Young on the bump for Knightline.  Young went 4 innings, scattering a pair of hits and giving up 1 while walking 4 while punching out 4, while keeping his pitch count under 80.  Dru DeShields also had some time on the island with a strikeout to his credit.

Offensively for Knightline (2-0), Anthony Butto put on a clinic going 2 for 2 with 3 RBI.  Mikey Sciortino also shined bright with a pair of runs driven in for the Red and Black.

For Whiting (1-1)- Cre Calabria stole the show with a 2 hit performance that included a triple, and an RBI while swiping a bag along the way.

Ken Lavrich was the tough luck loser, giving up 6 runs on 5 hits.

DURA EDGE FLEXES ON PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge used a steady offense to topple the Prospects on Tuesday night 9-3. Edge scored a run in every inning, including a big three run 5th to put the game away. Before that big inning, the Prospects cut the lead to 5-3 with a 3 spot in the 4th.

Kyle Yost went 2-3 for Dura Edge with  2 RBI and he scored 3 runs. Caleb Jones also had 2 RBI going 1-4.

Jake Hettrick went 1-2 for the Prospects and collected 2 RBI. Luca Bertolasio also went 1-2 and scored a run.

Three Dura Edge pitchers threw 2 innings a piece. Brady Shannon struck out 6 while Josh Reed and Braden Gebhart threw two shutout innings.

 

FALCONS WIN BATTLE OF THE BIRDS

STRUTHERS, OH- Tino Campoli took the mound on Tuesday with confidence, almost as if he knew his teammates would back him at the dish.  Low and behold, Tino and his crew would let the aluminum fly against Eagle Wear in dominant fashion by blanking them 11-0.

Campoli went the distance for Astro (2-0) in the condensed contest striking out 8, walking 2 while scattering 3 hits over 5 innings.  He also contributed offensively with a pair of RBI, while scoring twice and walking twice as well.  Seth Cervello also had 2 RBI, and Ben Slanker had a triple.  The Falcons dominated the basepaths as well with AJ Havrilla nabbing a stolen base while Luca Ricchiuti stole a couple cookies without being caught.

Eagle Wear (0-2) trotted out a quartet of pitchers: Larry Iagulli, Jake Papagallo, Anthony Caruso, and Zach Luciano.  The set combined for 2 strikeouts, 13 walks and gave up 10 earned runs.

Offensively, Josh Loew, Chris Altiere, and Joe Roth had hits for Eagle Wear.

BALLISTIC BURSTS AHEAD AND HOLDS BACK AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic Baseball jumped out to a 3-0 lead right out of the gates in the 1st inning. The Avalanche kept inching closer scoring a run in the 3rd and 5th innings. Ballistic was able to hang on though as they came away with the 3-2 win.

Andrew Cupon gathered the lone RBI for the victorious Ballistic team. He went 1-1. Marc Conti was the only player in the lineup to get multiple hits going 2-2.

Paxton Grimes went 1-3 for the Avalanche with an RBI. Lucas Cummings mirrored those numbers going 1-3 as well with an RBI.

Dalton Curron got the win on the mound for Ballistic Baseball. He tossed 3 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits. He struck out 3.

Tim West pitched 3 innings for the Avalanche giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and striking out 4.

CREEKSIDE PITCHING DAZZLES IN WIN

STRUTHERS OH- Logan Cayavec threw six strong innings in Creekside’s 3-1 win over Roth Brothers. Creekside scored two in the 4th, and one in the sixth. Roth Brothers scores an unearned run in the 7th but that’s all they could scratch across.

Danny Smith had a good day at the plate for Creekside going 2-3 with a RBI. Jack Desmond also added an RBI going 1-3.

Jordan Streamo gathered the lone RBI for Roth Brothers going 1-3. Austin Ward went 1-2.

Logan Cayavec threw six innings giving up no earned runs. He gave up 4 hits and struck out 6.

Alec Gryzb was a tough luck loser on the mound for Roth Brothers. He gave up 3 hits and 1 earned run in 4 innings pitched. He also struck out 5.
