WHITING ROLL-OFFS OVERPOWER DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge took an early 2-1 lead Thursday night against Whiting Roll-Offs, but the good times would not last. The Roll-Offs scored 7 runs in 3 innings to secure a big 8-2 win. Their pitchers threw four scoreless innings after surrendering two runs in the 1st.

Tyler Kamerer led the offense for the Roll-Offs going  a perfect 2-2 at the plate. He also had a walk and a RBI. Ethan Bintrum went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

William Shaffer went 1-3 for Dura Edge with 2 RBI. Zack Leonard, and Jake Bowen both had impressive nights going 2-3.

Gavin Wooley got the win for Whiting Roll-Offs going 4 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 4.

 

CREEKSIDE BLOWS AWAY ROTH BROTHERS

STRUTHERS OH- It started out looking like a pitching duel Thursday night between Roth Brothers and Creekside. The first 3 innings were scoreless. But Creekside broke the dam in the 4th with a run, and then flooded the Roth Brothers pitching staff with five in the 5th and 4 in the 6th. Creekside’s pitching never wavered on the other end, cementing a 10-0 win.

Thomas Koch had a fantastic day at the plate for Creekside going 3-3 with  2 RBI. Grant Voytovich went 1-3 with 4 RBI.

Cam Hollobaugh got the lone hit for Roth Brothers.

Nick Rispoli got the win for Creekside throwing 5 innings of 1 hit baseball. Brady Hanson finished out the game.

Abe Bayus tossed three scoreless innings for Roth Brothers.

 

WHITING ROLLS OFF KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS, OH- The Whiting Roll-Offs showed some resiliency on Monday night against Knightline in a 10-4 route.  Knightline grabbed the lead in the third inning with 4 runs, but in the fourth, Whiting came storming back with a half-dozen of their own.

Leading the way offensively for Whiting (1-2) was Ben Dottle with 3 RBI on a pair of knocks.  Brendan Hink, Tyler Kamerer, Gabe Yanssens and JA Quahliero drove in a run each as well in the victory.

Marcus Fuller got the win on the mound with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk over the course of 4 innings while giving up a goose egg to opposing hitters.

Pat Coleman went three innings in the loss giving up 7 runs (5 earned) and six hits.  Coleman also struck out 3, and walked 4.

Brett Bobin led Knightline (1-1) offensively with 2 RBI, while Kris Scandy had a pair of hits and a stolen base.

PERRY, TAMBURRO LEAD THE WAY FOR AVALANCHE WIN

STRUTHERS, OH- The duo of Ty Tamburro and Mike Perry led the way for the Avalanche on Monday in a 7-6 victory over the Prospects.  Tamburro went 2-3 with a pair of RBI, while Perry went 1-1 and added 2 RBI as well.  Jake McQueen and Peyton Olinski also contributed with a run driven in apiece.

On the bump, Conner Lewis went 3 innings with a pair of strikeouts and no walks while giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits.  Aaron Ellsworth would alco contribute with a 1K, 2BB performance in 2 innings while giving up a trio of runs on 5 hits.

For the Prospects, Vincent Marimpietri went 5 innings and struck out 5 while walking a pair of hitters.  Marimpietri would give up 2 earned runs on 5 scattered hits.

The Prospects offense was led by Michael Galterio with 3 RBI, Jared Mindek with 2 RBI on 3 hits, and Jeremy Kreuzwieser who went 2-4 on the night.

The Prospects fall to 2-1 while the Avalanche stay unbeaten at 2-0.

ROTH BOUNCES BACK TO STEAL VICTORY

STRUTHERS, OH- Behind the clutch bat of LJ Evans, Roth Brothers were able to rally with 5 runs in the fifth inning to grab a victory against Ballistic last night.  Evans delivered a 2 RBI triple in the frame that kept the momentum going for Roth.  Caelan Bender and Eli Snyder also chipped in an RBI apiece.

On the mound it was Alex Tomsic getting the victory behind a 3 strikeout, 2 walk performance over 3 innings.  Abe Bayus and Rob Tomko would come out of the bullpen to get the combined save while striking out one batter each.

For Ballistic, Sam Basso is hit with the loss, going two innings and giving up five earned runs.  Basso was still able to fan 5 Roth batters along the way.  Kevin Schott also chipped in with a pair of strikeouts over 2 innings.

At the plate, Ballistic was led by Anthony Koulianos with a pair of hits and an RBI.  Griffin Widrig doubled home a run as well.

Roth Brothers evens their record at 1-1, while Ballistic still searches for their first victory at 0-2.

ASTRO FALCONS SURVIVE SCARE AGAINST CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons survives a tough competitive Creekside team in a 4-3 win on Monday at Bob Cene Park. Creekside took the early 1-0 lead in the 2nd. The Falcons looked like they took control with a four run 3rd to respond, but Creekside scored 2 in the bottom of the 6th to make the Falcons have to sweat this one out.

Dom Pilolli has 2 RBI for the Falcons going 1-3. Aiden Shepard was the only Falcon with multiple hits going 2-2 and scoring a run.

BJ Arnold went 2-2 with a RBI for Creekside, while Brandon Lane went 2-3.

John McCullough got the win on the mound for the Falcons, going 4 IP with 1 ER on 3 H and 7 K.

Andrew Vance was impressive for Creekside throwing 4 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts.

EAGLE WEAR WINS SLUGFEST OVER DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear took an early 2-0 lead in the 1st on Monday night setting the tone for what would be a high scoring affair. After Dura Edge took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 3rd, Eagle Wear responded with a 5 spot making it 7-3. Dura Edge would eventually cut it to 7-5, but Eagle Wear added an insurance run in the 5th to cap off a 8-5 victory.

Teddy Ruffner had a huge day at the plate for Eagle Wear going 2-3 with 3 RBI. Matt Womer went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

William Schaffer had the big day for Dura Edge going 2-4 with 3 RBI. Joey Perfette went 2-2 with a RBI.

Josh Corll got the win for Eagle Wear going 4 IP with 5 ER and 3 K. He threw 91 pitches.

PROSPECTS PITCHING HANDLES BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- The 18U division of Prospects used dominant pitching, and timely defense to dispatch Ballistic Baseball in the opener of Class B play on Sunday. The Prospects scored three runs in the 1st and 3rd innings, and added two runs in the 4th. Ballistic was able to scratch across a run in the bottom of the 7th to avoid a shutout.

Jared Mindek led the RBI category for the Prospects going 2-4 with 2 RBI. Michael Galterio also had a good day going 2-3 with a RBI. Clay Wiesen had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2 scoring 3 runs.

Anthony Koulianos had the lone RBI for Ballistic going 1-2 with a walk.

Jeremy Kreuzwieser led the pitching for the Prospects, giving up no runs on 4 hits and striking out two in four innings pitched.

18U ASTRO FALCONS LOOK SHARP ON DAY ONE

STRUTHERS OH- The 18u division of the Astro Falcons had no trouble in their Class B opener on Sunday against the Whiting Roll-Offs. A seven run 5th inning alongside a dominant pitching performance by Andrew Russell  let the Falcons cruise to a 10-0 win on a perfect afternoon for baseball.

Will Ray led the Falcons offense going  2-3 with 3 RBI. Dom Pilolli also had 3 RBI going 1-2.

Andrew Russell got the win on the bump for the Falcons as he threw 5 scoreless innings and struck out 6 while walking just one.
