POLAND, OH – The Poland Bulldogs football team has been on of those football teams in the Youngstown area that has always been led by great players but has also always been one of the premier programs in the area. This year’s squad is no different as they are led by a great group of seniors and one of those senior is Matt Boccierri. Matt “bleeds” Poland blue and loves the challenge of leading this team week to week. His play on the football field speaks for itself as he is always flying around making plays from his linebacker position and always seems to be in the right position to make the big play or gain the necessary yards on offense when the Bulldogs need it most!

CANFIELD, OH- In an insightful interview, Senior Runningback and Linebacker Danny Inglis of the Canfield Cardinals shared his journey from the recruiting trail to his new home at Iowa State after the team’s triumphant State Championship win in 2022.

BLAZING HIS OWN PATH

CANFIELD, OH –  Brady Crumbacher steps up this year as top dog for the South Range Raiders.  Last year Crumbacher started for the Raiders at Cornerback being a lockdown corner and a huge success for the Raiders as they went on to win the State championship.  Crumbacher has big plans this year for his team and knows they can go far in the playoffs.  Crumbacher will be playing both ways this year.  He will continue playing Corner, but for offense, Brady will be filling the big shoes of Shane Lindstrom and playing wide receiver.  Crumbacher can not wait for the season to start.  They opened up with their rivals The Springfield Tigers on August 18th at Springfield High School.

YSN’s own Chris Colucci who was very fortunate to sit down with his former teammate and talked to Brady about football and fun goofy questions.  Crumbacher was asked, “To the people that say South Range can’t be where they were last year because they lost so many seniors?” He said “We are not trying to be the team we were last year.  We are trying to be our own team.”

East Palestine, OH- The air is electric with anticipation as the Edgewood Warriors prepare to embark on a new football season, armed with renewed enthusiasm and a revamped roster. Leading the charge is senior quarterback Tony Hall, whose impressive stats from the previous season have set the stage for high expectations. With a veteran-packed team and a deep pool of talent, the Edgewood Warriors are gearing up for a triumphant 2023 season that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

In a candid interview with the Warriors’ broadcast team, Larry Jennings and Mike Olekshuk, Tony Hall shared insights into his preparation for the upcoming season. He is looked at as a leader of this team by many in the community because of how he goes about playing the game. Koziorynsky is returning as a second year team captain who lets his play on both sides of the ball speak for itself as he takes over day in and day out for this Red Devils team. Up first for Matt and the Campbell Memorial Red Devils will be a home match up with a talent St. Thomas Aquinas team looking to start off on the right foot too.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – Wide receiver Sean Guerriero is one of those players who’s energy is contagious and because of that he is looked at as one of the leaders of this year’s football team at Springfield. Everyone in the Springfield community knows that this senior class is very special and that credit goes to how close knit this group is and a lot of that comes from Sean and the other leaders. Guerriero looks to lead the team in receiving this year as he will team up with fellow senior Kolten Ruark on what looks to be a high powered offense that will put up points and be very exciting to watch!
