FALCONS LOSE GROUND AGAINST THE TIGERS

Fitch faced a formidable Massillon Washington team and encountered a tough challenge, falling to the Tigers with a final score of 42-7.

In the first quarter, Ja’Meir Gamble wasted no time, breaking through for a 59-yard touchdown run, setting the tone for Massillon. Dorian Pringle added another touchdown with a 1-yard run, putting Massillon ahead 14-0.

Fitch rallied in the second quarter when Deshawn Vaughn Jr. connected with Dan Evans III on a 57-yard screen pass for a touchdown, bringing the score to 21-7 in favor of Massillon. However, Massillon answered with a touchdown of their own as DaOne Owens found Braylyn Toles for a 6-yard pass, ending the half at 28-7 in favor of Massillon.

The third quarter continued to be challenging for Fitch as Massillon added to their lead with touchdowns from DaOne Owens and Ja’Meir Gamble, extending the lead to 42-7.

Massillon’s ground game was the driving force behind their success, accumulating a remarkable 446 rushing yards. Ja’Meir Gamble led the way with 235 yards, while DaOne Owens contributed 135 yards. Owens also made his presence felt through the air, going 5 for 14 with 60 yards and a touchdown. In contrast, Vaughn completed 20 of 39 passes for 205 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Fitch’s standout performer was Dan Evans III, who led the game in receiving with 7 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side, Kyler Wiggins of Massillon made a key interception in the first half, returning it for 52 yards. Rocco DiFlorio led the game in tackles with 17.
