GARFIELD RESPONDS AFTER SLOW START

NEWTON FALLS OH- In a game where they trailed for the first time all season, Garfield displayed remarkable resilience and fought their way back to secure a convincing 49-14 victory over Newton Falls.

The opening quarter saw Garfield facing a 14-7 deficit, an unfamiliar position for the team. However, that early setback didn’t deter them. Brandyn Bogucki and Deacon Sommer played pivotal roles in the comeback, both contributing rushing touchdowns to help the G-Men seize the lead heading into halftime.

What followed was a commanding display of rushing dominance by Garfield. They amassed an impressive 407 rushing yards on just 45 carries, showcasing their strength on the ground. Remarkably, they only attempted two passes throughout the game, relying on their ground game to carry them to victory.

Deacon Sommer had a standout performance, carrying the ball six times for 118 yards and adding another touchdown to his impressive season. Meanwhile, Brandyn Bogucki contributed significantly with 10 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown of his own.
