FITCH EARNS HUGE WIN OVER BOARDMAN

AUSTINTOWN FITCH- In what could be considered the game of the year for Austintown Fitch, the Falcons leveled up their game in the field and in the box to scrape out a 2-0 win over Boardman Tuesday.

Jake Corll didn’t allow a single run and was emotionally charged throughout the game. Corll allowed just three hits, in what could be considered one of the best games he’s had in his impressive career.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Corll struck out ten, while Gavin Hyde sat down six.

A single by Conti in the first inning and a Caleb Satterfield double. were positives for Boardman, but the Spartans just couldn’t string the offensive attack.

Hyde took the loss for Boardman. The bulldog lasted six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six.

Fitch got on the board in the fourth when Brandon Popio went yard in the fourth inning over the left-field wall.

Popio, Donavan Bell-Sullivan, and Carson Fuller all had one hit to lead the Dirty Birds. Fitch was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Joe Roth had the most chances in the field with ten.

These two teams are slated to meet up again May 11th in Boardman.
