FITCH RETURNS TO THE DISTRICT FINAL

AUSTINTOWN OH- The Lady Falcon softball team blanked Louisville 6-0 on Monday afternoon in the first game of the District Semifinals.  With the victory, the team improves their record to 21-2 and they advance to face Green on Wednesday, an 11-0 winner over Perry in the other semifinal game.

Fresh off being named the AAC conference player of the year, Freshmen Sydnie Watts, pitched a complete-game shutout to help the Falcons advance to the District Championship.  Watts struck out 17 and didn’t walk a batter in her 7 innings of work.

Watts also helped at the plate with a solo home run and a single on the day.  Senior Maddy Taylor plated 3 runs to go along with three hits on the day, a single, double and a home run.  Senior Alison Foley smacked an RBI double and fellow senior Samantha Aey added a triple.  Junior Caitlin Mitchell had a RBI on a Sacrifice Fly to help the offense.

The first pitch for Wednesday’s District Championship game will be at 5:00 PM at Fitch.
