HADLEY AND EAGLES HANDLE AQUINAS

CANTON, OH-Caleb Hadley was on fire, driving in five runs on three hits to lead Kennedy past Aquinas 20-8 on Tuesday. Hadley kicked things off with a bang, slamming a three-run homer to left field in the first inning, then singled in the second to bring in another run, and doubled in the seventh to add one more.

The Eagles set the tone early, exploding in the first inning. Right after Hadley’s homer, Andrew Lapolla and Nico Ciminero each grounded out but still managed to drive in a run apiece, and Santino Ciambotti lined out to bring in another run.

They didn’t let up in the second inning. Hadley singled, Michael Bartoe hit a sacrifice fly, Lapolla doubled, and Trevin Rinck doubled, each bringing home a run. The onslaught continued in the third with Michael Condoleon singling, another sac fly from Bartoe, and a sac fly by Freddy Bolchalk, each plating one.

The seventh inning saw the Eagles push further ahead, tallying five runs on six hits. Rinck singled to score a run, Ciambotti doubled to drive in two, Condoleon singled to add one, and Hadley’s double brought in another.

Taggart Carfangia snagged the win for the Eagles, pitching three and two-thirds innings, allowing just one hit and two unearned runs, striking out six. Aquinas’ Tyson Howard faced a tough outing, lasting just over two innings while giving up 13 runs. Hadley also put in two solid innings of relief work, striking out six without allowing a hit.

The Eagles were relentless at the plate, racking up 18 hits. Condoleon led the charge with four hits. Lapolla, Carfangia, Rinck, Ciminero, and Ciambotti all had multiple hits. The Eagles also showed their speed, stealing five bases.

Aquinas had some moments too, with Landon Stanek, Dom Pusateri, Santo Pansera, Mattai McCleskey, and Gaige Stebler each knocking a hit. Stanek, Pansera, and Stebler drove in two runs each, and Riley Hawkins drew three walks, highlighting their strong plate discipline.

Next up, the Eagles are set to face Heartland Christian on Wednesday.
