HUBBARD FINISHES CONFERENCE SCHEDULE STRONG

HUBBARD OH- Hubbard Softball ended their conference season on a high note on Monday, sweeping a doubleheader over Niles with dominant performances on both offense and defense. The Eagles secured a resounding 11-0 win in Game 1 followed by a 3-0 victory in Game 2.

In the first game, Hubbard’s offense came out swinging, led by Lauren Komorek’s stellar performance at the plate. Komorek went 3 for 3 with an impressive 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Phoebe Rusnak and Kaylee Schultz also contributed with multiple RBIs, while Kamryn Johnston added to the run total with 2 runs scored.

In the circle, Rusnak was in complete control, tossing four innings of one-hit ball with no runs, no walks, and seven strikeouts.

In the second game, Hubbard continued their offensive momentum. Komorek remained a key contributor, driving in another run and scoring one herself. Cara Green and Haleigh Taylor also delivered RBIs, while Johnston and Taylor contributed to the run total with their base running.

But it was Haleigh Taylor’s dominant pitching performance that stole the show. Taylor pitched a flawless game, throwing five innings without allowing a single hit, run, or walk, while striking out an impressive nine batters. Her performance earned her a no-hitter and secured the shutout win for Hubbard.
