WELLSVILLE GIVES THOMPSON 300TH VICTORY

WELLSVILLE, OH – It was a very special night in Wellsville Tuesday night as not only did the Tigers get a dominant win against Paden City, but the Tigers were able to get win number 300 for their coach, David Thompson. Coach Thompson has had some type of affiliation with Wellsville since he was a little kid, wanting to play for the Tigers and now coaching for them. Thompson has a 300-119 record and a .716 winning percentage through his 18-year coaching career Coach Thompson has always been a competitor, and it shows in his success throughout his career and especially Tuesday night. It was a team effort for Wellsville, with eight different players putting up points which boosted the Tigers to a 75-28 victory.

For Wellsville, Jaxon Brewer led the way with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Eddie Stock added 16 points, Isaiah Greathouse contributed 8 points and 9 assists, Josiah Santiago put up 8 points and Gavin Kountz finished with 6.

For Paden City, Mickey Guerra led the way with 9 points and Shane Anderson added 8 on the night.

Wellsville will be back in action on Thursday as they are set to host Columbiana in a big EOAC matchup with Wellsville, Columbiana and Valley Christian all tied with the conference lead. Don’t miss it on YSN!
