MOONEY SHINES BRIGHT IN REMATCH WITH SPARTANS

BOARDMAN, OH – The Boardman Spartans hosted Mooney on Tuesday night as we are closing in on tournament play. Boardman led the game at half, but only by three so it gave the Cardinal’s room to work with in the second half. Thanks to Mooney’s Mick Hergenrother, and great defensive play by the Cardinals, Mooney outscored Boardman 19 to 7 in the second half to boost them to a 53-43 victory over the Spartans.

For Mooney, Hergenrother led the Cardinals with 23 points. Rocco Turner contributed 14 on the night. 

For Boardman, Nico Holzschuh led the way with 8 points on the night.

Mooney will be back in action on Friday, as they will travel to Ursuline. Boardman will also be back in action on Friday, as they will travel to Warren Harding. Don’t miss it on YSN!
