JFK PUNCHES TICKET TO CHAMPIONSHIP

WARREN, Ohio –

Four different JFK Eagles (11-4) scored double digits to defeat the JacksonMilton Blue Jays (15-10) 60-44 and keep their district title hopes alive.

The Eagles were up by 16 with 4:08 left in the third quarter, then 7 with just the final quarter to play. While the final margin of victory shows JFK had the game firmly in hand, it is not truly indicative of this matchup.

Jackson-Milton’s 16-point third quarter, led by senior guard Mason Robison’s 10 points in the quarter, got them back into the fight and had JFK on their heels. Trailing by 5 with less than 10 seconds to play in the quarter, Milton had the ball to in bounds, but a miscommunication led to a wide-open layup for JFK, a possible 4-pointswing.

All the momentum Jackson-Milton seemed to have built up was taken away with their mistake and JFK’s hot start to the 4th. The Eagles finished with 14 points in the final quarter of play and did a terrific job of holding the basketball and draining the clock.
