PALESTINE LAYS CLAIM TO QUEENS OF THE EAST

NEW WATERFORD, OH- Monday’s game at the Ace of Diamonds was nothing short of a thriller as East Palestine rallied to a narrow 12-10 victory over East Liverpool. The Bulldogs, showcasing resilience and timely hitting, improved their season record to 2-2 in what was a rollercoaster of a game.

East Palestine got off to a strong start, grabbing an early lead in the first inning with three runs and tacking on another in the second. However, East Liverpool wasn’t going down without a fight, chipping away at the lead with two runs in both the third and fourth innings.

The real drama unfolded in the middle innings when East Palestine’s bats caught fire again. Sparked by Gabby Andre’s relentless hitting, the Bulldogs posted four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Andre was a force throughout, notching three hits. Maddie Foster was also pivotal with her two hits, including a clutch triple that kept the momentum on their side. Taylor Foster and KK Andre chipped in with two hits apiece, demonstrating the depth of East Palestine’s lineup.

Amidst the offensive fireworks, Leila Martin made significant contributions, driving in a key run and crossing the plate twice herself, adding crucial runs to the Bulldogs’ tally.

In the circle, Gabby Andre delivered a standout performance despite East Liverpool’s persistent offense. She pitched a complete game, navigating through tough spots and striking out 12 batters while surrendering five earned runs. Her ability to close innings effectively was key in maintaining the lead as East Liverpool kept the pressure on until the last out.

As East Palestine savors this hard-fought win, they look forward to continuing their momentum into their next game against Beaver Local at home on Tuesday. If this game was any indicator, the Bulldogs have the spirit and the firepower to turn their season into something special.
