PROSPECTS PROSPEROUS ON TOP, WIN 16U CHAMPIONSHIP

STRUTHERS, OH- The comeback kids all season came out on top when the dust settled at the end of the season.  The Youngstown Prospects are Kings of the Class B 16U League.

Sully Brown pitched Prospects to victory, confusing and frustrating Roth Brothers all game long in a 4-1 win.  Brown allowed just the one run on five hits in a complete-game outing, striking out seven and not allowing a single Roth batter to walk.  Alex Tomsic went the distance in the loss for Roth, surrendering four runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking only two.

Jared Mindek delivered the big blow of the game, slugging a two-run double to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third inning.  Clay Wiesen, Jared Liepheimer, and Brandon Popio all contributed a hit and a run to the winning cause.
Jordan Sheehan led off the game with a hit for Roth and scored the only run of the game for his team.
