RAMS SPOIL RESERVE’S CHAMPIONSHIP BID

BERLIN CENTER OH- Fresh off a tough loss to Western Reserve the night before, Mineral Ridge entered Tuesday’s rematch hungry for redemption. With Western Reserve poised to claim at least a share of the MVAC title with a win, Mineral Ridge had other plans as they bit back at the Devils in an impressive 8-1 victory on the road.

Mineral Ridge’s offense came out swinging, led by Aaliyah Wall’s standout performance. Wall went 3 for 5 at the plate, including a powerful home run, driving in 3 RBIs and crossing the plate twice. Laney Rigley and Maggie Collins also contributed with multiple hits and RBIs, while Savannah Turek and Sullivan Sandy added key hits and runs scored.

In the circle, Mineral Ridge’s pitching was solid, holding Western Reserve to just 5 hits and 1 earned run over 7 innings.

Despite the loss, Western Reserve managed to get on the board with Katie Byers driving in their lone run of the game. Lindsay Jones, Caylee Selley, Aubrey Kutsko, and Chloeigh Endsley each contributed with a hit as well.

However, Mineral Ridge’s strong hitting and pitching performances proved too much for Western Reserve to overcome, as they now have to hope that McDonald slips up in one of their final three league games to have a share of the MVAC.
