SHAW GOES BIG FLY; CARDS SAIL PAST OCEAN TOWNSHIP

MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Nate Shaw was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in four on two hits to lead Canfield past Ocean Township Spartans Varsity 10-2 on Thursday. Shaw drove in runs on a home run in the first and a sacrifice fly in the second.

The Cardinals got things moving in the first inning, when Landon Beidelschies singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Connor Miller was the winning pitcher for Canfield. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out eight.

Alderiss took the loss for Ocean Township as the hurler surrendered seven runs on four hits over one and one-third innings, striking out three..

Canfield collected ten hits. Michael Patellis, Josh Juliano, Beidelschies, and Shaw each collected multiple hits for the Cardinals. Shaw, Beidelschies, Juliano, and Patellis all had two hits to lead the Red Birds.
