CANFIELD KEEPS ROCKING IN MYRTLE BEACH

MYRTLE BEACH, SC-  Canfield claimed an 8-5 victory on Thursday, despite a big push by Highland Regional in the fifth inning on a home run by Carfango.

Nate Shaw led the Canfield Cardinals to victory on the hill. The right-hander surrendered five runs on ten hits over four and a third innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jake Grdic threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jenkins took the loss for the Tartans. The hurler went four innings, allowing eight runs on four hits and striking out three.

Landon Beidelschies went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Canfield in hits.

Highland collected 11 hits on the day. Davis, Kennedy, Melnychuck, and Carfango all managed multiple hits for Highland Regional Tartans. Davis led Highland Regional Tartans with three hits in four at-bats.
