QUAKERS CONTINUE TO GAIN MOMENTUM; SHUT OUT HOWLAND

SALEM, OH- The Quakers are starting to pick up momentum on the diamond.  Salem defeated Howland 4-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Salem Quakers got things moving in the first inning scoring one run when Darius Beck doubled.

One bright spot for Howland was a single by Kenney in the second inning.

Carson Rhodes was the winning pitcher for Salem Quakers. Rhodes went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out four. Brock Young threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Gebhardt took the loss for Howland. The hurler lasted one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out two.

Gavin Wilms led Salem Quakers with two hits in three at-bats.
