CAMPBELL OH- Southern Local has been atop the EOAC for a good amount of time. On Saturday they had the chance to at least share the EOAC crown for the third straight season. They earned a share of the league with United, and Leetonia with a 37-19 victory over Valley Christian.

The Indians ground game set the tone for the game early as Hunter Morris led Southern down the field with his legs, and capped off the drive with a 2 yard touchdown to put the Indians up 8-0 after the completed two point conversion.

After a crazy play saw the Eagles score a touchdown, the Indians punched back with 21 unanswered points. Brad Sloan had the big play in the scoring run, catching a 58 yard touchdown.

Jon’Tae Pabellon ran well for the Eagles gaining 99 yards on 13 carries. The Eagles never stopped fighting in the game, and he was a big reason why.

Southern will hit the road in round 2 of OHSAA playoffs to face Newark St Paul. Valley Christian has a round 1 matchup with Lowellville on Friday night at Struthers.
