RAIDERS SPLIT LATE NIGHT DOUBLE DIP

South Range battled late into the night on the first day of the Prebis tournament on Friday, splitting a doubleheader with mixed results.

In the first game, South Range faced Holland Springfield and emerged victorious with a close 10-8 win.

Leading the charge for South Range’s offense was Gretchen Bartels, who went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. Riley DeCiancio contributed with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in 1 RBI and scoring 2 runs, while Solena DeJesus went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Keira Brogan also had a strong showing, going 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs, and Heidi Bartels added 2 hits and scored a run.

In the circle, Jayli Wilt pitched a complete game of 7 innings, allowing 10 hits and 8 earned runs while striking out 4 batters.

In the second game, South Range faced a tough challenge against North Ridgeville and fell short in a hard-fought battle that went into extra innings, ultimately losing 14-11 in 10.

Keira Winner led the offense in the second game, going 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Solena DeJesus, Keira Brogan, Giada Pauline, and Gretchen Bartels each contributed 2 hits, with DeJesus scoring a run and Brogan driving in 1 RBI and scoring 2 runs.
